It's hump day so time for a morning #wednesdaywalk with the boy.
#murphy
I use to live up by this park, which is on a hill at the top of town, but I live on the other side of town now so we had to drive. I'm parked just the other side of that row of poplar trees on Murphy's left :)
We've turned right on the path now and are heading east. On the left there is a newly planted area of the park. A few years back all the pines that were here had to be cut down as rthey were all dead from a pine beetle infestation :(
It only took three years from the time the beetles were first spotted to all the trees in the park dying. Over 125 trees in all. Real bummer, however the park is still there and still awesome.
Above is a look back at the area were most the pines use to stand.
Below is an image from a drone showing the park. The red arrow is the stand of poplar trees that I park behind today. If you look closely in the red box you will see the stumps of the cut trees. the blue X
in the bottom right corner is roughly where I am standing in the above photo.
Walking on, this is the park entrance with the Columbia River in the valley and Mt Adams in the distance.
The park has a real nice disc golf course, here is one of the holes.
I thought this would be a good spot to toss a copper round with a Bitcoin design on it for someone to find later.
"It's just behind your head Murphy, look behind you ffs!!!"
Oh well, he doesn't have a pocket to put it in anyhow xD
Moving on we get to the south side of the park with a great view of Mt Hood in the distance and, in the fore, one of the many cherry orchards here in Oregon.
All in all it was a pleasant #wednesdaywalk, thanks for joining us!!
