I was down in Arizona visiting my folks the last couple days. There was a great sunrise yesterday.
Palm trees in Arizona are always funny to me. I don't know exactly why but it seems like they are native to this area, but they are not. They are everywhere here in the valley of the sun and it seems quite natural.
There is one semi-native Arizona palm, the California fan palm, only found at the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge between Quartzite and Yuma. But even those are thought to have come by coyote or bird droppings thousands of years ago.
Native or not, They are now a big part of the Arizona landscape.
I'm traveling home today but I was able to go on a short #wednesdaywalk this morning around my folks neighborhood before leaving for the airport.
Not sure what either of these flowers are, but I was surprised to see them in February.
This little guy was making lots of noise. Looks like a hummingbird with that long beak but it's bigger than the types of hummingbirds I see in Oregon. He watched me walk by while chattering so I didn't see it fly.
Then there was this yard that had this bird shaped flower pot that kind of fell over.
When I got home and looked through my pictures for the post I realized it looks like it was drinking from this sprinkler and was staring me down as I took the picture xD
