    Ingredients

🍗 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    🌶️ 1 tablespoon chili powder
    🧄 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    🧂 1 teaspoon salt
    🌽 1 teaspoon ground cumin
🌿 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
🫑 1 red bell pepper, sliced
🫑 1 green bell pepper, sliced
    🧅 1 onion, sliced
    🧈 2 tablespoons butter
    🌮 Flour tortillas (4)
🧀 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
    🍅 Salsa, for serving (optional)

    Instructions

    1- Prepare the Chicken Marinade:

    • Begin by slicing the chicken breasts into thin strips.
    • In a bowl, combine the chili powder, garlic powder, salt, ground cumin, and lime juice.
    • Add the chicken strips to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to enhance the flavors.

2- Cook the Chicken and Vegetables:

    • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat.
    • Add the marinated chicken strips to the skillet, cooking until they are browned and cooked through, approximately 6-8 minutes.
    • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
    • In the same skillet, add the sliced red and green bell peppers, and onion. Sauté until the vegetables are tender but still retain some crunch, about 5-7 minutes.

    3- Assemble the Melt:

    • Place a tortilla in a clean skillet or griddle over medium heat.
    • Sprinkle a portion of the shredded cheese on one half of the tortilla.
    • Layer with cooked chicken, sautéed peppers, and onions over the cheese.
    • Sprinkle additional cheese over the top and fold the tortilla in half.
    • Cook until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese has melted. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and fillings.

    4- Serve:

    • Cut each fajita melt into wedges and serve with a side of salsa if desired.
