When you start playing a game, they introduce stuff slowly. Take DOOM 2016/DOOM eternal, at the start you have nothing but a pea shooter, (ok not exactly a pea shooter) and then is added more bit at a time, they all have weird names. But as time goes on, you'll have umm,... top of head 12? Weapons, each with something like 6? (made up number) variations and you're fine (ish)
If you bought the DLC (a game after finishing doom eternal), you would instantly have 12 weapons with 6 add-ons and instantly die a horrible death! You would never get past that big blobby thing that attacks you!
What?
Well i think it's the same for hive, if it's grown on you over the years, it's all plain sailing, if not, you're thrown into Doom eternal DLC with 12 weapons 6 add-ons a piece and will die a horrible death by that big blobby thing.
