This installation was placed right beside the art gallery. I didn't find any information on it, but at first, I thought it might be related to the Chinese Lunar New Year festivities that were taking place that week. There is a large Chinese community here, so the Lunar New Year has now become part of the local culture. The "totem" motifs are indigenous, however, so I'm at a loss about the exact nature of this installation. It was still light outside when I took the photograph, so I imagine that it was even more eye-catching in the dark. Neat.
