Alright, so here's my take on what went down on SmackDown this week.
First off, let me just say I was pretty stoked about The Rock being absent.
Don't get me wrong, The Rock's awesome at what he does, but sometimes it's nice to see other wrestlers take the spotlight.
This week, it was all about Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
The show ended in a very intense way!
Cody and Roman squared off face-to-face and it only took seconds to heat things up. Roman flat out called Cody “stupid” and an “idiot” for trusting Paul Heyman and showing up alone.
That must have hurt.
But Cody wasn’t deterred, he stood his ground, telling Roman he isn’t a fool and is ready to fight the face of the company.
Things got more interesting when they started discussing their partners for WrestleMania. Roman was dissing Seth Rollins while Cody defended him. Then there’s this big thing about betrayal that keeps coming up, making me wonder if somebody’s gonna turn on their partner or not.
I think it is The Rock; however, who knows?
Cody mentioned Roman’s remarks about his wrestling career and his commitments towards the fans in order to remind him of those things.
This was a words match between two heavyweights, not boxers exchanging blows. On another note, Roman claimed he is forever number one and then Cody came back with a killer line about being The One who would bring him down.
It was like a movie scene, I expected Cody would pull some sunglasses and go full Neo on Roman.
However, at this point things took an unexpected turn when Roman declined to shake hands with Cody and called in his crew.
I thought that was it for Cody but nope!
We were wrong because he is smarter than we thought. He didn’t flinch or run away; instead he stood there with a smile since he knew there were people who had his back. And then Jey Uso as well as Seth Rollins arrived meaning that it was game over for Roman’s gang.
It was just an ordinary yet powerful section.
Cody showed that he is not just any pushover but has learned from his mistakes as well as he ready for taking up against Roman along with his kith and kin too.
Wrestlemania 40 should be very epic going by what has taken place so far.
