Come along and walk with me around the KÖPMANNEBRO #LOCK and a view at DALSLAND #CANAL ~ in Köpmannebro, Västra Götalands County, SWEDEN. 🇸🇪 We visited it last #SUMMER ☀️
People say it is one of EUROPE’S #MOST #BEAUTIFUL #WATERWAYS. Let’s have a look for yourself if that is the case 😊

On a beautiful #sunny Tuesday, while on our #road-trip to the UK 🇬🇧, we drove along the left side of the BIG #LAKES just above #GOTHENBURG
I saw a #tourist #attraction on google maps and we decided let’s stretch our legs and have a look. 😊
We parked our car on a spot next to the road and walked along the road towards the lock.
We see across the road a sign 🪧 we will check it out later when we walk back 😎
Standing next to the lock we peek around the corner to the right.
We cross the single road over the lock and have a look there first 😊
Beautiful, we can see rather far along the canal.
Crossing the road quickly again we stand next to the gates of the lock and look straight ahead 😎 a shame no #boat 🚤 is coming through the lock right now.
Zooming out a bit to take in the view better. On the left at the large tree next to a parking 🅿️ there is a little #restaurant. Perfect for lunch 🥗
We walk over the lock onto the grass to take in the views 🤓 A large bridge in the distance is just visible.
We walk a bit and go to the other side of the road again. As we walk further there is another river. As we are surrounded by #islands here 😊 we cross to the next small #island. Standing in the middle of a #bridge. We see the views along this part of the river.
I zoom in… the bright blue sky and the trees 🌳 are wonderful to see. The sky reflecting in the water.
Suddenly a bird dives down and just touches the water… see the rings? I managed to react fast and capture a photo with the bird flying just over the watersurface 🥰 DO YOU SEE IT? It is white 🪽
I zoom further in to show you the distance 😎
Look there are water lilies and their leaves floating on the edge of the river 🪷
We walk towards the opposite side, next to the lock is this part of the river. The small island is on the left.
We see this stunning view 🤩 the red Swedish house on the right. The motorboat 🚤 and 2 bridges in the distance. WOW… beautiful.
I capture it all and #love the #reflections in the water.
What a spot to have a house. 🏡 You can hop in your motorboat 🚤 and sail away into the distance.
Beautiful the reeds along the water.
We walk further again… I must say. It is a beautiful location for sure.
We reached the large sign 🪧 Some #photographs on the right. You see the islands better from above, the bottom photo 👇🏻
The sign has a lot of information, all in Swedish.

We walk further along the road and watch the river next to us.
The pier towards the little boats 🚤
We reach a cute red house 🏠 just look at the round windows.
Peeking around it we see more from the bridges. The #arches of the old bridge.
What a shot, the yellow little rowing boat 🚣🏻♂️ is just perfect 🤩
Looking over towards the right a bit more.
And Further… yes, I could spend some time around this area.
A shame we had to catch a ferry ⛴️ in Gothenburg and had to head back to the car.
I hope I could show you that this area is definitely worth a stop to check out along a route or visit of this area.
