Truth be told, this Gen z generation really won't understand how life was back in the days, the same way we will never understand how life was during our forefathers era, at times I just imagine how life will look like for them, imagine those era when there was no electricity or tv, so you people just stay outside at night (in inside mosquitoes) and keep doing what, folktales, just cant imagine how surprised they we will when they find out technology have taken over, back in the days around 2005 downwards, phone is actually a strange name to lot of us and the only means of communication back then was landphone which only the rich or maybe the average people own, the day I was what a land phone look like, I was just laughing because there wasn't anything funny about that phone and the only thing you can do is to just call and receive calls and that was why it is a landphone, always on the table.
I really took me years before I could see a real phone and that was my dad phone, he was using this Nokia phone, pen touch, that phone was Gold to him because it was expensive back then so he doesn't joke with it and always put it in his front pocket to se wont take it, if he catch it with you, then you are gone but anytime he is asleep, I will pick it up secretly and use it to play game, I think there was one daring spirit back that that always give you that kind boldness even when you know you want to do a bad thing and the aftermath is always dangerous, he almost caught me one day but I escaped, there was a time he decided to get multilinks for the house so he will be able to reach us, truth be told, I kind of love the multilinks phone then but I'm not a call person so I start playing the game on it which was really interesting especially the tank one.
I really didn't have access to computer at all and the one in my primary school, they don't really allow us to operate on it, we will just go to the lab section, and watch wonders while our hand were at out back until junior school when my dad got me my first phone, it felt like a new world and it was more interesting finding out we can download on it, so I started downloading games to play and it take taking my little time away, I finally get to operate a computer in Js2, even though I don't really know most of the things I saw on it, it make me more curious until I went for a 6 month computer training and that was the beginning of a new era for me. The training was one of a kind, it really gave me the push I needed and I started making more findings, digging into software packages and all, my first interesting aspect was the Mavis beacon because it was a typing learning software to build my typing speeds, we were giving tasks on it and if we fail to reach the target typing speed, punishment will always end it.
Things have change now, tech have finally advance and taken over completely but those humble beginnings gave us that boost we needed, anytime I see people my age finding it hard to operate a phone or computer, I will be like oh this is one of them, perhaps if they have taking stuff serious back then, operating these days gadget will be very easy for them, we can't really compare back then usage to the one we have now, we have lot of games, social media app now days and that increase our usage a lot because we really can't do without a phone and we hope things keep advancing.
