For work reasons I was invited to this place. It is a peninsula belonging to the Cuban archipelago. It is located on the north coast of Matanzas province. This beach is known for the number of beautiful hotels and its white sands and crystal clear water. The hotel is called Roc Arenas Doradas and is a marvel for its view and comfort.
These days the weather is about 16 degrees Celsius and not very suitable for swimming but I took my bathing suit and tried at least the beach and the pools.
The place is wonderful. Varadero is a dream come true, a real paradise. Every corner is more beautiful than the other. I went for a walk along the road where you can see the different hotels and I found myself and look what I found.
For the first time I saw a yacht or sailboat in front of me and I could touch it at a place called the Marina. It was not possible to ride because they were out of service hours. We continued walking around looking for other wonders.
Look, look says my friend there are the dolphins. Indeed a dolphin hatchery. There we went in and there was no public either but we were able to watch and pet the dolphins.
What a tremendous emotion, the dolphins are very noble and intelligent. They are beautiful and swim happily with their families.
They are very well cared for there, they have veterinary care, food and lots of love. The dolphins are trained and come out to dance and greet people. They like to be petted and to be told nice things.
There we spent a good time playing, laughing and talking. The truth is that I would like to see them swimming free in the sea, but there they have been saved from indiscriminate housing, diseases or injuries. There they reproduce and form a beautiful family with the affection of the people and their caretakers.
This work meeting was a magnificent gift for me. I was able to find joy for my heart in the midst of the turmoil that the world is going through due to wars, lack of food and electricity, health and medicine deficits, pandemics.
After the beautiful walk we returned to the hotel, exhausted by the tour but very happy for having learned so much.
We went in through the bar and I was watching the bar man prepare drinks and cocktails. I asked for a cola, but the bartender suggested me a good Cuban mojito. A delicious drink with leaves of good grass to refresh the stomach. I asked for very little alcohol and I decided to try it, it was really delicious.
We spent a pleasant time there, talking about the trip and the beautiful things. Undoubtedly the white sand and the blue, blue water of the beach is enchanting.
The food service is very efficient. The people are very friendly and the beautiful dolphins and seagulls that roam happily in these surroundings make these lands and seas a paradise.
I don't know when I will return to this beautiful place because it is far from my city and very expensive to get here. For now I take it in my heart. I hope someday I can bring my son. I am sure he would love every detail here. I would like to come back with my son and my husband but in July and August so I can enjoy the beaches and pools to the fullest without fear of illness. Here there are visitors of various nationalities mainly from Europe.Varadero is a paradise so come and enjoy.
