Ideal foods to prevent anxiety

Anxiety has become a public health problem, equalling and even displacing what years ago was stress.

The speed at which everything is moving has produced significant changes that have ended up triggering the symptoms of this disorder, which we have all suffered from at one time or another, but which many now suffer from.

I am not a specialist in the subject but it has been proven that nutrition also influences these disordered thoughts about what the future holds for us or what will happen in the short, medium and long term.

In my dietary consultations with people with these problems I recommend that they eat foods that increase serotonin, which acts as a neurotransmitter, since according to some studies low amounts of this causes depression.

These include oily fish such as sardines, tuna and salmon, meat, eggs, yoghurt, cereals, nuts, bananas, pineapple, avocado, plums, broccoli, chickpeas, lentils, chard, oats, oranges, carrots, lettuce, soya, tofu, beetroot, among others.

I also recommend chicken as a source of protein and chocolate, mainly dark chocolate, 70% pure or more.

Sometimes a healthy diet is the root to avoid episodes that overwhelm us and lead to uncommon states.
