    Peace!
Where is it... I asked myself.
And the answer brought me here.

    IMG_6051 Large.jpeg
Somewhere between the Valley’s of Himalayas. Somewhere Lost, Lost! In order to find myself. Myself Alive! That’s where the life is...

A beautiful day in the mountains.
A new day equals to. A new adventure when I am home.
    Mountains.

After a very long time. A vacation was a necessary thing. From the hustle and bustle of everyday of a city life.. It was finally time to go home. The Mountains to where I belong. So last weekend I decided to travel from Delhi to Manali around 13 hours from the place and reached Manali.

It was really a drastic change, as Delhi facing extreme pre-summer heat 35-40 C and on the other hand few days back of the day when I reached Manali the area was covered under the blanket of snow. 0-5 C.

The particular day when I reached Manali I had a bunch of adventures planned among which this one is one of it.

The motor-able road to a hidden remote village of Himalayas. Trashi where villagers were mostly disconnected with the outside world and lived by themselves in peace. Grow their own food and lived a life as of a few years ago, Even the villagers were unaware of the Pandemic that happened in the year 2019.

As per the time the area got developed and the houses of the village got their first electricity connect and now It was time for a Motor-able road by which the villagers could easily commute. So that they should not face difficulties such as travelling hours and hours long to the town nearby in order to get the education and get essential items.

    IMG_5968 Large.jpeg
The road was still under construction but the Breadth-taking Experience was a worth while.

The road towards Trashi Village is from Shilla- Halan Village of Kullu. The whole trail had few of the most breadth takings views of the whole valley as the road was nearly through the top of the mountain through which the whole valley could be seen.

In the past locals even say that there is a place named Baragarh in Kullu that used to be the capital of the place just righty near Trashi Village so the the king could have his place at that part of the Valley through which he could see the entire place.

    IMG_6055 Large.jpeg
When we look at our right the whole right portion of Kullu Valley could be seen, The Peaks of Manali and When we look towards our left the whole Kullu Town and it’s peaks could be seen.

    26th March 2024
    On the way to Trashi.

It was around 11 Am in the morning when I started my journey from Baragran Village of Kullu Himachal Pradesh. Just me and my camera and a lot of adventure and the unseen world. Maybe it was the first time when this place was captured. As being remote that kept the place a hidden gem.

I always used to wonder when I used to see smoke from the mountain and there used to be tiny hidden villages. Which were still away form the every-days hustle and bustle.

    IMG_5923 Large.jpeg
    So here be began.
Our first task was to reach Shilla village of Kullu form where the newly constructed road began. The road form Baragran Village till Shilla was also a whole lot of different experience. The views, the trails.. It was all filled up with a lot of adventure.

    IMG_5927 Large.jpeg
The condition of the road looked something like this, muddy un mettled road, which was the cause of this place being covered under the thick blanket of snow during the winters. That destroys the whole metalling of the road, thus resulting to this adventurous trail.

    IMG_5939 Large.jpeg
Looking just rightly straight lies the Halan Village of Kullu and just right to the top lies Shilla village just parallel towards each other in a different valley.
Our first destination was to reach Shilla village from where as per told by the locals was the trail towards Trashi village of Kullu.

    IMG_5942 Large.jpeg
As we were covering up the distance more breadth-taking the views were. At every singly slight curve of the road it felt like that we were getting closer to the sky and beyond a moment we could even touch it!

    IMG_5949 Large.jpeg

    IMG_5954 Large.jpeg

After riding for about half an hour from Baragran Village we finally reached Shilla. The village nearly consisted of four to five villages, People over there were living on their own. They had farms! They grew their own fruits and vegetables and even the 4G cellular network worked quite good enough over there, The place after visiting for the first time for sure now became my favourite place to enjoy a holiday vacation.

    IMG_5959 Large.jpeg
    The Turning point.
After reaching this point instead of going straight over the road we had to turn and take this road in order to reach Trashi Village. The road straight would led us to few of the other remote villages of Himalayas.
    IMG_5961 Large.jpeg
Even the beginning of the road was all raw and this thought made me wonder that how would the road beyond it be!

    IMG_5966 Large.jpeg
In a single word I would say!
    It was adventurous.

As I entered the trail a feeling came into my mind that am I in a video game. Or playing a dirt bike video game! It was a raw feeling guys. The smell of the Soil. The fresh mountain breeze! The moment of the trees, Enjoying the waves of the wind. A lot of happening being taken place silently!

    IMG_5970 Large.jpeg
Hats off to the guys who planned a road like these guys. The road was nearly through the woods and that too closer to the top of the mountain Slightly covering up the whole mountain in a circular manner. Rather the individuals would have to first climb up the whole mountain and then would have to descent down in order to commute.

    A photograph of Shilla Village

As the name suggests as per the traditional Himachali Language Shilla means a place that is in a shade but even receives sunlight. So this place has a unique feature that the place is mostly under the shade and even the snow over here takes a lot of time to melt about a month or two.

    IMG_5981 Large.jpeg
The trail is truly a paradise for the adventure bike sports and even for Quad Biking ATV adventures. I was in an old Pulsar 150 Bike nearly about more than fifteen years old and it was fun! The rawness could be easily felt.

    • The Himalayan Traffic

    IMG_5983 Large.jpeg
Throughout my whole entire expedition, reaching Trashi Village there was not even a single vehicle I had seen neither saw a single person. Except this heard of sheep lead by a Shepherd.

    IMG_5984 Large.jpeg
I tried communicating with the Shepherd and there was a language problem... Neither did he got what I spoke nor I understood what he was trying to express. All that he said was that he was happily living his life and was grateful for the Nature.

    IMG_5986 Large.jpeg

    IMG_5989 Large.jpeg
The Mighty peaks of Pir Panjal range of Himalayas were seen clearly visible from this place. The whole Pir Panjal mountain belt was clearly visible.

    IMG_5995 Large.jpeg
There even were few apple trees in this amazing location. The view from this place was truly magical guys. The whole valley could be seen and even the other portion of the Dhaula Dhar Mountain Range was also visible.

    IMG_5996 Large.jpeg
After reaching this place I got answer to my question that why Did the king of this place built his fort somewhere rear to this place so that he could see his entire Kingdom from the top.

    IMG_6002 Large.jpeg
As we were covering up the distance there were no milestones, Neither any sort of signs that how far would be Trashi Village and How far would this road lead us to.

    IMG_6006 Large.jpeg
The road constructed by literally cutting down the mountain is truly a magical thing. The place looked green and bright only during the months of now and at the time of winters this location experiences about five to six feet of snow during every snowfall that lead to complete Isolation for the people living in the village. The villages usually bring up the essentials all together at once for the winter season and even store the grains that they grown so that they could live their lives as their ancestors did.

    IMG_6008 Large.jpeg

    IMG_6011 Large.jpeg
The turning curve of the road could be easily seen from this location. So I tried to capture as much as information that I could so that you guys could get the true picture of the place and even you guys could get the raw feel of unexplored portion of the Himalayas.

    IMG_6013 Large.jpeg
We were at around 3000m altitude and the place from where we started our journey looked like tiny as if we were seeing them through the window of an aeroplane but we actually were at that amount of height.

    IMG_6014 Large.jpeg
Increase in altitude also led a a change in the vegetation, the trees and plants that were grown.. Usually this phenomenon used to be felt when there used to be a huge amount of change in altitude, So was is! By the construction of this road. If hiking thill the place would be form the starting point it would usually take more than a day of hiking. As even the mountain was too steep.

    IMG_6016 Large.jpeg

    IMG_6020 Large.jpeg
This was the point when we were at the edge of the mountain from where the road would take a deep curve towards right that would lead us to Trashi. It took around two hours for us reaching this point.

When we looked at our left the whole area of Manali could be seen and on our right the portion of whole Kullu Valley could be seen. So basically the whole stretch of sixty Kilometres was clearly visible from this place.

    IMG_6021 Large.jpeg
The whole panoramic view of the entire valley could be seen from this place.

    IMG_6024 Large.jpeg
Just onto our straight was the Trashi Village.
Completely Isolated form the world which could be seen from the place.

    IMG_6025 Large.jpeg
The houses and roads looked liked tiny ants. The view was just really truly amazing and mesmerising guys. The whole expedition was a worth while. A dream come true moment for me as when I used to see the tiny houses over the mountain and the day I myself went and explored and experienced the place.

    IMG_6038 Large.jpeg

    IMG_6041 Large.jpeg
The Trashi Village consisted five to six houses. The life at this place was like that of being back in time. The Rawness was even in their house which were constructed from mud and wood. As per various views the ancient himalayan houses would even withstand earthquakes and in the past at the time of earthquakes theses houses were all fine.

    IMG_6042 Large.jpeg
This type of Ancient Himalayan Architecture is known as Kath Kuni.

    IMG_6045 Large.jpeg
The roof of the house is of Slate and the walls are of Rocks and the other portion is of Wood.

    IMG_6046 Large.jpeg
The ancient himalayan Craftsman without the use of any modern equipment makes houses like these that last centuries.

    IMG_6050 Large.jpeg

    IMG_6052 Large.jpeg
So that was the turning point of our expedition guys. I hope you liked it.
