I have had the pleasure of being given quite a few old tablets and phones.
Unfortunately, the phones are not useful for my mining project.
Latest addition
The most recent device I have been given is a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2. Back in the day I had a mini version of this model. It's quite nice, I still like the old models.
Performance
I have had quite a few issues getting this particular device running smoothly. First up, it has 8 core CPU, and when I start mining I maximize the usage and activate all 8 cores.
After about 13-18 hours, the tablet run out of juice. It dies. No more battery. This is very frustrating because it has the charger in constantly. My other devices run on all CPU's without dying on me.
Tweaking some here, trying different chargers, cables and whatnot I finally decided to change my config file for this device, limiting it to 6 cores.
Still running
2 days in after I changed the config file and the tablet is still running.
It has not died!! And is even at 100% battery still!
I am very much liking this as it means I don't have to check up on it every now and then to make sure it's running.
