This is my post for #freewriters 2385 prompt slippery floor hosted by @mariannewest
In my age of oldness, I have found
that I have spent days on the ground
Not because of a slippery floor
or because I trip coming in the door.
When I look down or to the right
I have to be careful.
It is not a pretty sight.
It starts on the left side of my face
a tingling feeling, I lose all grace.
Then it goes to my left arm
numbing it as it travels down.
My legs go to shake, I know I am going to fall,
I cannot stop it, down I go, sometimes into a wall.
I crash to the floor where I shake,
In an instant, I can stand.
The feeling is gone.
It does not last that long.
As if nothing has happened, I get up
and look around, nothing is broken,
everything is sound.
Now, I try not to look down whilst standing
but found it still happens while sitting down.
I fall, it is not that far of a drop
but can still hurt.
I found a way to make it stop.
Now I find when the feeling is felt,
I move my head and have no more dread.
The feeling stops and I no longer fall,
I am still standing tall.
