As in the previous weeks, yesterday I attended the Crypto Monday meeting. I got out of the bus and decided to take a couple of pictures facing the other side of town. You can see the World Trade Center on the right, with the middle cable car tower, the Olimpic mountain on the left, and the cable car cabin suspended below one of the clouds.
I got there slightly early but some members were already there. The place was slightly crowded as a Shopify event was also taking place but the venue is big and there was no sensation of being packed.
It was nice to see several new faces in the group, it seems more and more people are starting to join as spring is approaching and the temperature starts getting warmer. We decided to have our first rooftop meeting in a couple of weeks.
Some of the new members are IT developers on sabbatical, who have decided to come to town to take a resting time and try to find a new job here. There were some artists also joining, mainly willing to learn how to explore W3 opportunities with their art.
I had a nice conversation with Adrien, who has been organizing crypto events in town for quite a while. He is also responsible for Web3 Family Conference taking place in town next month
But from all the new ones I was curious to chat with a couple of British who have been living in town for five years now. He is a DJ and they are working to launch a crypto bar. I was curious to learn about their story, they have already a place and are searching for funding, they want to have the best sound system in town and have a bunch of crypto-related events. I told them about the beer project and we both decided to have a longer talk as they approach the launch.
It is nice and fun to see more and more people joining the group, meeting new faces, making new contacts, and welcoming those jumping into crypto for the first time. Unfortunately, I will be missing the next two weeks' meetings as I will be out of town, but some of the members plan to come to the Beer Festival so I will have a chance to meet them there. I am also looking forward to the first outside meeting in a few weeks in the rooftop!
