Beat the Heat: DIY Lightweight Summer Blouse

in voilk •  3 days ago

We are now in that season of the year in Nigeria when you just don't feel like wearing clothes; if not that, people will definitely call you a mad fellow. The heat here is out of this world, it is like a part of hell is being left loose.
After seeing the prickly heat on my arm, it's now dawned on me I have to tweak my dressing style in the season, and that's wearing lightweight and free-shape wears.

For my first projects for summer wears,I'll making a flare shaped blouse.
I have leftover fabrics from what I sew for my elder sister so, I'll be using the remaining.😅
"Nothing is a waste, nothing dies in my hands",lol.

Without no further ado, let's get on with the cutting and the sewing process.

    Materials to be used.

    • The Fabric
    • A matching thread

    The Cutting Process

    • Cut the blouse length after deducting the sleeve length from it.
For example, my blouse length is 23 inches so, I minus 6 inches which is my sleeve length which equals to 17 plus sewing allowance makes it 18 inches.

    • Cut the sleeve in flare form and use the appropriate sleeve length for it.

    • Cut 1½ inches of the fabrics for the straps.

    The Sewing

    • Do the interfacing of the neckline and sleeves.

    • Attach the straps.

    • Add the sleeves to it.

    • Join the front and back together.

    Now, we have the results....

    Guys....what do you think?
Is it a ten or below it?
