(ESP-ENG) Kimetsu No Yaiba: Hashira Geiko-Hen - Season Finale!

A couple of weeks ago when we were just in chapter two of the most recent season of Demon Slayer I told you about my first impressions of what could be this season that just ended last Sunday. As you well know this fourth season or arc was the beginning or preamble of what will be the final battle in the infinite castle of Muzan Kibutsuji; it was thought that this would be a fifth season but no, Ufotable, the studio behind this masterpiece decided to make this final through a trilogy of movies taken to the cinema where it is expected that the first of them will be released next year. What does this mean? - Well, we will have to wait a few more years to see the long-awaited ending of this anime, very much in the style of Shingeki no Kyojin.

Hace un par de semanas cuando apenas estábamos en el capítulo dos de la más reciente temporada de Demon Slayer les hablé de mis primeras impresiones de lo que podía ser esta temporada que acaba de terminar el domingo pasado. Como bien saben esta cuarta temporada o arco fue el inicio o preámbulo de lo que será la batalla final en el castillo infinito de Muzan Kibutsuji; se pensaba que esto sería una quinta temporada pero no, Ufotable, el estudio detrás de esta obra maestra decidió hacer este final a través de una trilogía de películas llevadas al cine donde se espera que la primera de ellas sea estrenada el año que viene. Que quiere decir esto? - pues que tendremos que esperar unos años más para ver el tan ansiado final de este anime, muy al estilo de Shingeki no Kyojin.

It must be said that this season just ended was very smooth and friendly, we saw how Tanjiro and company completed the training with the pillars for what is to come. We were able to have a little context about several of them, learn about Gyomei Himejima's past, Giyū Tomioka's and a little about Sanemi Shinazugawa, the pillar of the wind, who for me I consider one of the most interesting characters of this group. This is something that this anime is used to do a lot, understand and know the lives of their characters to create empathy with them and look what they achieve. What was done with Himejima, the pillar of the rock, was extraordinary, one of the best chapters of this short season.

Hay que decir que esta temporada recién culminada fue muy suave y amigable, vimos como Tanjiro y compañía completaban el entrenamiento con los pilares de cara a lo que se viene. Pudimos tener un poco de contexto acerca de varios de ellos, conocer el pasado de Gyomei Himejima, el de Giyū Tomioka y un poco de Sanemi Shinazugawa, el pilar del viento, quien para mi lo considero de los personajes más interesantes de este grupo. Esto es algo que acostumbra mucho hacer este anime, entender y conocer la vida de sus personajes para crear empatía con ellos y miren que lo logran. Lo hecho con Himejima, el pilar de la roca, fue extraordinario, de los mejores capítulos de esta corta temporada.

But that cool and relaxed tinge that the episodes had been showing changed drastically with the final chapter, one that lasts 40 minutes approximately. Throughout the anime there have been epic moments but I think this finale could easily go to the top 3 for how well done it is, for the emotional charge it has, for the animation that I would say is the best currently and for the scenes we see in it: the mini confrontation with Muzan and then the famous fall in the infinite castle. Everything was an impressive combination to give us an ending that beyond leaving us pleased what they did was to increase the expectations and anxiety for what is coming, which I tell you is not pretty at all.

Pero ese tinte cool y relajado que venían mostrando los episodios cambió drásticamente con el capítulo final, uno que dura 40 minutos aproximadamente. A lo largo del anime han habido momentos épicos pero creo que este final pudiera ir fácilmente al top 3 por lo bien logrado que está, por la carga emocional que tiene, por la animación que diría que es la mejor actualmente y por las escenas que en él vemos: el mini enfrentamiento con Muzan y después la caída famosa en el castillo infinito. Todo fue una combinación impresionante para entregarnos un final que más allá de dejarnos complacidos lo que hicieron fue aumentar las expectativas y la ansiedad por lo que se viene que ya les digo yo no es nada bonito.

Something very expected and that occurs here is the encounter between Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the commander of all the pillars, with Muzan. It is a meeting with an important spiritual charge because it is literally good versus evil, the tranquility and nobility of Ubuyashiki versus the arrogance and contempt of Muzan; and all this is shown through a very deep and real conversation, one that made the leader of all the demons himself nervous. I think the staging for this was a 10 and the way it was written is very top notch, from Muzan's entrance to that mansion to the end of that conversation was goosebumps-inducing.

Algo muy esperado y que se da acá es el encuentro entre Kagaya Ubuyashiki, el comandante de todos los pilares, con Muzan. Es un encuentro con una carga espiritual importante porque es literalmente el bien contra el mal, la tranquilidad y nobleza de Ubuyashiki frente a la arrogancia y el desprecio de Muzan; y todo esto se muestra a través de una conversación muy profunda y real, una que puso nervioso al mismo líder de todos los demonios. Creo que la puesta en escena para esto fue un 10 y es que la manera en la que fue escrita es muy top, desde la entrada de Muzan a esa mansión hasta el final de dicha conversación fue algo que puso la piel de gallina.

Now, what's coming up? - Well, the most cruel, traumatic and difficult part of the anime. The thing with this is that there are approximately 60 volumes left to animate, will three movies be enough to give us all the necessary details? - A big question. If each one is an hour and a half to two hours or so it is possible otherwise I think it will all fall short. If you ask me I am not a fan of this decision, nothing better than a season of 30-40 chapters and everyone is happy. You have to think that there are still the battles of all the moons with the pillars plus the final fight between Muzan and Tanjiro, so you can already calculate how much is left to see.

Ahora, que es lo que se nos viene? - pues la parte más cruel, traumática y difícil del anime. El tema con esto es que faltan aproximadamente 60 tomos por animar, serán suficiente tres películas para darnos todos los detalles necesarios? - una gran pregunta. Si cada una es de hora y media a dos horas aproximadamente es posible de lo contrario creo que se quedará corto todo. Si me lo preguntan no soy nada fan de esta decisión, nada mejor que una temporada de 30-40 capítulos y todos felices. Hay que pensar que quedan las batallas de todas las lunas con los pilares más la pelea final entre Muzan y Tanjiro, así que ya se puede calcular cuánto falta por ver.

And as a final remark, one of the things I'm looking forward to the most is Zenitsu's upgrade. You will see in this season that something happens with him, in this case I already know it, so his behavior changes radically, he is not the same as always. In the final scenes when they all fall into the castle I think that what gave more to talk about was the countenance of him, this gives to think that what we will see I feel that we can not imagine. In the end this last season I think it was the closure of many things that needed to be seen to give way to what is coming next. Personally I found it incredible, much calmer than the previous ones but with a 5 star final chapter, so much so that IMDb gave it 9.8, the perfect closure for a deadly beginning.

Y como apreciación final decir que de las cosas que más espero es el upgrade de Zenitsu. Verán en esta temporada que algo pasa con él, en este caso ya lo se, por lo que su comportamiento cambia radicalmente, no es el mismo de siempre. En las escenas finales cuando todos caen al castillo creo que lo que más dio de qué hablar fue el semblante de él, esto da a pensar que lo que veremos siento que no nos lo podemos imaginar. Al final esta última temporada creo que fue el cierre de muchas cosas que hacían falta ver para dar paso a lo próximo que se viene. En lo personal me pareció increíble, mucho más calmada que las anteriores pero con un capítulo final de 5 estrellas, tanto así que el IMDb le dio 9.8, el cierre perfecto para un comienzo mortal.
