I been dreaming of this place during my childhood years. Since it is too far from our residence, I wasn't able to visit here even once. Transportation in early 90's is one of the major problems in the province. Only a few will travel here and it was scheduled. Usually, only affluent people can reach this destination with ease.
Just recently, my second child was eager to take a plunge to this famous cold spring in Tabogon. It is too hot here now in the Philippines, classes are suspended and why not grant her wants? Off we went there together so we can take a break for a moment.
...a short story to tell....
A long time ago (1980-1990), this spring was already used to be visited by the locals. It was called Guiwanon Spring. It is famous for being cold and the secluded place is perfect for family bonding, gatherings and any other occasions that is usually celebrated outside. It was still open to the public, no fees were collected.
When you are like this, the happiness and joy of the folks to paddle in the very cold water of the spring is incomparable. During free time, people from the different corners of the district flock here to enjoy the refreshing coldness of the spring.
Five years ago, Guiwanon was sold to a wealthy family and afterwards, changes happened. It was developed so it can cater more people who love to visit here. It was already called as Banyan Spring. It is named after this centennial tree Banyan that can be seen on the side of the spring. Its huge branches covered with lush of green serve as the best canopy for humans who are looking for great relaxation as they keep on swimming and enjoying the cold water.
Cottages are available now. There are bigger cottages good for bigger families. If cottages are unavailable, we can opt to stay under the shade of the trees for free. The landscape is pretty cool that we can truly admire its simplicity.
It has comfort rooms and shower rooms for our convenience. We have to be responsible in our own mess, no littering anywhere as there are huge trash bins placed behind the toilet.
As I roamed around, I was amazed at this part of the spring where it was cordoned. It is a restricted area and nobody should be staying nor swimming here. It is not open to the public and basing on my gathered information, it where the spring is located. The vicinity is captivating and you can instantly feel how serene the place is. It is so amazing. It is surrounded with green which a plus factor for relaxation due to its more soothing effect to one's mind.
The fascinating noise and the flowing water from the spring going to the ocean is visually amazing. This is one of the best landscapes that I like here. Watching the water continuously overflowing.
Spending our time here as family at a cold spring was truly refreshing and we were able to bond with one another which seldom happens. The pure environment of a cold spring bridges us to a serene setting for unwinding, relaxing and rejuvenating ourselves from the extreme heat of the sun.
The coldness of the water and the entire area, offer us a unique experience that invigorated us both physically and mentally.
This visit is simple yet full of fun and enjoyment. Being with nature together strengthened our bond and created lasting memories. Moreover, Banyan Cold Spring's splendid surroundings, is ideal for outdoor gatherings and exploration as a family.
Spending our time here in this amazing nature is an excellent choice, it was full packed with happiness as we cherished the moment being with nature's tranquility and serenity. An experience that we keep on asking for more.
