This composite image (I added the full moon later) is essentially a technical fail.
The resolution doesn't hold up past about 10 inches on the short side. Some other more experienced photographers told me not to get rid of it because it was still an interesting image.
After a couple years my inner creative slapped my inner purist around a bit and I went crazy with some post processing adjustments and added a full moon image I took at a different time.
Then I went even crazier and had it printed on canvas. I decided I liked it and put it in storage. About a week after I took it out of storage a custom interior contractor saw it and purchased it immediately at a price I was more than happy with.
Who would've guessed?
This nest disappeared that same year as a result of one of the worst wild fires in history- the Carr Fire in Northern California - so I named it "Osprey Apocalypse"
Just for fun, I've added some other images from that same day of shooting.
Traveling the world photographing wild places, wild animals, and wild people.
