A Happy Ending

Earlier today, I was feeling bored and had gone over to visit a friend. I've been feeling a bit sick lately and I honestly think it's because I don't get to move around much. I'm always at home and for some reason I feel like it is affecting me in some kind of way.

Anyways, I'm not the reason for today's blog, as a matter of fact, I'm here to tell you guys about NY friend who got her first real gig today as a baker.

This friend of mine has always had passion to bake but she never really had money to pay for the classes. So whatever she would do whenever she had little money on her was that she would go get some of the baking stuff, and then plead with a lady down the street who also bakes, to lend her some of her equipments while she practiced online using YouTube videos.

The lady had refused to teach her if she didn't pay, but had agreed to let her use her equipments for a fee.

Today when I went over to her place to see the cake she had baked, she began to tell me stories of the many times the lady had laughed at her whenever she got things wrong and how discouraged she felt at first but had continued to be consistent regardless of the mistakes she made.

It took a while but she finally began to get the hang of it, and even when she did, she wasn't confident enough in herself that she now was good, so she had refused collecting jobs from people, in a bid not to ruin their cakes and go into debt.

But few days ago, after probably months of learning online, she eventually decided it was time and got her first gig.. Funny enough, it is a cake that is meant to be an apology to her client's spouse, and I remember joking about how the spouse might end up never forgiving her client if the cake ends up being terrible and we both laughed about it.

But to be honest, that was probably one of the best cakes I've had in a while (she gave me a bite) and I'm not even a fan of cakes. Anyways, I'm happy for her, and I'm glad she didn't let anyone discourage her and had remained consistent.
