When you raise some certain animals such as rabbit guinea pig and some large animals like cattle, sheep and goat the love to consume weeds. I mean green Vegetables or green plants. No matter how you wear this animals you need to feed them with another type of feed or plant so that they will always gain their strength and weight. It is highly necessary to formulate your own ratio which will possibly Grant your wish as a farmer. All farmers are in respect to make profit in all what they do such as crop production and rearing of animals. So in view of this it is a regular custom to give your animals two type of meal which I was taught several years ago.
The use of concentrate feeds as well as green plants. When you use the concentrate feet it may be in the morning and the other part of the feed may be used during the afternoon or evening. So this is how the routine should be done. Within a short period of time they will be used to how this is regularly done. I took some pictures of the weed which is very common here in West Africa Nigeria and it is used to feed animals. I've done a project whereby we use this particular weed called Tridax weed to feed Guinea pigs. Initially I do not even know they could feed on it until we were told to go into the woods to search for this plant and use it only for 4 weeks.
When we were on the field we were told so many advantages of using this plant to feed animals generally. It is used for antibiotic in some animals. When your animals feel sick or lose appetite to eat you can use this plant to readjust then to normal within few days. It's absolutely work 100% because I've tried it in so many cases.
I went to the extent of planting the weed inside my own farm. It cost me almost 8 weeks before I could normalize it. This was what I after a very long time I went into wood, to source for a very good and healthy Tridax weed, then uproot the weeds , then go transplant it inside my own farmyard. That was how it started and within 8 weeks it started sprouting out new leaves.
The approach was very stressful because I had to visit the farm everyday to see if they are no too much heat on them. This is to show you to what extent this particular plant is good and useful. Use on daily basis to secure good skin for your animals. When you continually use this type of weed to feed your animals the skin will absolutely become glowing.
It's also serves as alternative. You can only see this type of plant during the rainy season here in West Africa Nigeria. When it is time for the dry season it become dried up easily because of the nature of the plants. So you need to come out with a very good analysis to balance your feeding ratio. There are some farms just like Obafemi Awolowo University teaching and research Farm, they use other plants like elephant grass mainly. When the time comes I'm going to show us more about this as well.
