Human beings are different in their opinions about so many things, so we all have our personal beliefs and opinions on how to celebrate birthdays and on gifts we give out to others. For some of us that believe in celebrating birthdays it's a special day for us.
Although I feel one should not waste money on such an occasion, I love celebrating my birthdays in my own little way with my friends and family members. And I love receiving gifts from my loved ones because I know they will surely give me gifts that are precious to me.
As a minimalist, I like doing things within my budget because I hate to be in debt, so when I'm celebrating my birthday I don't go beyond my capacity at all.
Then if I'm to give my fellow minimalist a birthday gift, I will surely go for a present that I can afford and as well meet the person's needs at that particular time. I hate to give someone a gift in which they won't appreciate or it won't be of use to them.
Today, in my response to this prompt, I will be writing about one of the moments I gifted my minimalist friend a gift on her birthday.
My friend Ann is a lady that doesn't spend anyhow, she is a minimalist to the con, her own budgeting pass my own🤣🤣. So giving gifts to her isn't a problem to me at all because I know her likes and dislikes.
Before her birthday, I remember how she complained to me of how terrible the economy had been hitting her badly and she doesn't have money with her, so will not make her usual birthday snacks for her friends and family members.
She was very sad and I cheered her up that not celebrating her birthday as she wished doesn't mean anything, that she should be grateful for been alive in sound health.
So I took it up on myself to get her the necessary ingredients needed for the baking. A day until her birthday, I visited her and handed over the ingredients I've bought, honestly you need to see her expression at that very moment; it was full of surprises and joy at the same time. Her gratitude knew no bounds and I was very happy I was able to bring smiles to her face at the right time she needed it most.
She messaged me and called severally to express her gratitude to the kind gesture of mine to the extent that I became embarrassed by her act of gratitude. I had to tell her not to call me again🤣🤣
Since I've gotten the enlightment when it comes to gifting someone a gift, I don't just buy things anyhow, I go for things that will bring smiles to people's faces and will be their present need at that particular time.
