Birds Came Back
I love birds very much. Some birds never migrate, even in winter, but most birds migrate to warmer areas in the south during winter. In spring, some birds return or stop over here before migrating to different places. I love watching these migration moments. Their formations as they fly in the sky are amazing.
When I took the garbage to my shed the other day, I heard a beautiful sound above me. I looked up at the sky and saw pretty birds resting and singing in the trees on my property. They looked so relaxed and beautiful. It was just a moment. They flew away after resting enough. I really appreciate their visit.
Chickadees often stay near my area. They are very tiny birds but tough in winter. Their voices are beautiful. They call 'Chickadee-dee-dee.' They are similar to the Japanese tit family. I love them so much. I always welcome them into my yard.
Blue jays also frequent my area. They are amusing and beautiful birds. The previous owner of my house built many birdhouses in the trees, but I didn't like them. I noticed mice using those dark birdhouses, so my husband and I took them all down. Birdhouses looked unnatural in my yard. Interestingly, after their removal, we had more birds visiting than before.
When I was young, my father had a cool camera with a nice lens. He enjoyed photographing birds on our balcony at our old house. Our old house was surrounded by beautiful trees and located near the mountains.
My father left bird food or apples on the balcony. Initially, we attracted small birds, and then larger ones started coming. Eventually, we had very large birds, which made us a bit scared! My father removed the bird feeder from the balcony, and we had pretty visitors again. I learned that we shouldn't try to control nature at that time. Anyway, I love having many different types of birds in my yard.

鳥たちが戻ってきました
私は鳥が大好きです。冬の間でも渡り鳥ではないものもいますが、たいていの鳥たちは冬の間、南の暖かいところへと渡っていきます。春には、その鳥たちが戻ってきたり、どこかへ戻る途中に立ち寄ったりします。私はそんな鳥たちの移動風景を見るのが好きです。空を飛ぶ時のフォーメーションには感銘を受けます。
先日物置にゴミを持って行く時、上の方から美しい音が聞こえてきました。空を見上げると、家の庭の木の上にたくさんのかわいい渡り鳥たちが羽を休めていました。とても美しい鳥たちがリラックスしていました。それはほんの一瞬のできごとでした。次の瞬間にはもうどこかへと飛んでいってしまいました。十分に休めたのでしょうか。訪れてくれるのは大歓迎です。
チカディー（カナダガラ）はだいたい年中この地域にとどまっています。とても小さな鳥ですが冬でもタフです。「チカディー・ディー・ディー」と、とてもかわいらしい声で鳴きます。日本にもいる四十雀科だそうです。チカディーは大好きな鳥で、庭に来てくれるととても嬉しいです。
ブルージェイ（青カケス）はこの地域では常連の鳥です。愉快で綺麗な鳥です。前の家主さんは鳥小屋をあらゆる木の上に取り付けていました。ネズミが出入りしていてとても暗い印象でしたので全て取り外しました。家の庭には鳥小屋はあまり自然な感じがしません。不思議なもので、取り外した後にたくさんの鳥たちが訪れるようになりました。
昔、私の父がいいカメラと望遠レンズを持っていました。父はバルコニーにやってくる鳥の写真を撮るのを楽しみにしていました。私たちの昔の家は山の近くで木々に囲まれた家でした。
父は鳥の餌やりんごなどをバルコニーに設置しました。初めのうちは小さな鳥たちが集まってきたのですが、次第にどんどん大きな鳥がやってくるようになりました。最終的にものすごく大きな鳥たちがやってくるので少し怖くなりました。父がバルコニーに鳥の餌を置くのをやめると、またいつも通りのかわいらしい鳥たちがやってくるようになりました。自然界をコントロールしてはいけないのだなということが教訓になりました。いずれにせよ、色々な種類の鳥たちが庭に来てくれるのは嬉しいです。
