Another nice day yesterday which started off with a trip to town mid morning for my chiro appointment. I ma down to once a week now which is nice as I don't have to go to town as often. My back and neck are feeling back to normal so the fade out of appointments is fine.
It was the final day of the PDC German grand prix which Luke Humphries went on to win for his second time beating MVG easily in the final.
The mud on the sheetrock is nearly dry, the right side still had a bit of darkness to it showing it was still a bit damp. I brushed the dust off and noted the variances that still need to be filled. If it is dry today I will get the second coat on.
After noon I went out to get the animals waters filled. The hen and chicks had squeezed out of the hut sop after refilling their food and water I had to usher her back in.
I figured I might as well get the extra water tubs out and partially filled. The asshat alpaca is always splashing her front legs in them which gets them filled with dirt and garbage. I only filled them half full to reduce the amount of water she will be dirtying.
We have a few robins that are hanging around the farm. They are REALLY mellow and quite curious. This one I see pretty often and it is never that skittish. Most other birds are quite on edge and extra flighty but this one hangs out and watches.
Since I am waiting on the pulley for the motor and can't install the opener until today I decided to build the roof extension. Since I have the door opening on hinges it put the foot of the door out from under the eaves. That would have had rain running down the door towards the coop. So like I did for the house A/C I added a couple boards then mounted the piece of metal roofing.
Now the rain will sheet off past the door and will hopefully keep the entrance area a lot drier. The overhang shouldn't mess with the light sensor too much.
After getting my earbuds to finish charging I headed out to till. I like wearing my earbuds for tilling as they act like earplugs to buffer the motor sound plus I get to listen to an audiobook while I work. It only took 3 passes with the tiller to get the 3 rows tilled.
The irrigation lines laid out then the plastic pulled over the top and weighted with rocks around the edge.
Then I planted these 3 types of spinach, 19 spots of each. The Lakeside is the shortest time so it went closer to the berries and grass invaders so I might get a harvest from it before the grass invades again. The middle row is the Regiment and the row closest to the greenhouse is the Olympia since it is the longest days but also can handle heat better.
First seeds in the ground I then pushed the tiller up the hill past the garden shed and got the upper spot tilled.
The irrigation lines laid out and got closed off and staked. I pulled the plastic out but didn't finish laying it out fully. I will do that today when I get the fence up around it.
While I worked on dinner I threw darts. It's super slick having our board so close to the kitchen that I can easily throw then step away to cook for a few then right back at the board. This was a badass throw with 2 consecutive bulls, and nearly touching tips.
My old dart set is 21 grams and my newer set is 22 grams so I like to grab all 6 darts and throw so I am not walking to the board as much. This was a really solid grouping of all of them in the 19. Gradually I am feeling more "right" throws, where I can feel that the throw is going to be right before I even let the dart go.
The Kraken played the Sharks and popped off with a goal in 29 seconds. They floundered a bit but managed the win at 4-2.
Went out to soak but only managed a bit over half an hour as I need to deal with the chem levels, it was a bit itchy and I need to top off the water today.
Most likely it will be around 1 or 2 pm when I get the pulley for the door opener and I can install it. I'm also getting the new Uno 4 Wifi which I may turn into the coop controller since it has wifi and and RTC on it. I'll check on the mud and maybe add the second coating, spread the ashes in the garden, spread the Rootshield, then I have to till anywhere that is dry enough, get the irrigation turned on, then this evening figure out something for dinner.
