Hey Diss Track! // Free Madness

    Greetings, music lovers🙌

Many times, we've seen song writers show hatred towards another writer, and it all gets full of fun when they decide to leave the social media zone and put it into lyrics.
As a music person, I've come across a lot of this kind of music, but the one that stands out for me is the lyrical Diss track between Terry G and Mallam Spicey(Nigerian song writers)

These songs were far back in 2008, but whenever they come to play, they resurrect some sweet memories. Sweet memories on a diss/fighting song? That's to tell you how groovy these songs were in their prime.

Terry G, a songwriter and producer who came out with his different style of beats and lyrics, took the afrobeat world by storm with his first released track, titled Free Madness. The name of the track is indeed funny, and the song matched the name for sure.

Terry G's type of song is one that's only for 'hot' people because the beats are fast and the lyrics are, most times, not sensible; in fact, you can't pick most of the words in most of the songs, but in all these, it's so sweet to tickle the ear and get someone dancing mode.
In his Free Madness track, he threw a jab to Mallam Spicey, whom most of us didn't know existed until the guy reciprocated.

    The jab says,
😡"Me I no be mallam Spicey, me I no dey stop for the fourth bar, over🎶"

Ordinarily, the word doesn't sound harsh or serious. Like I said earlier, many of us who knew that song then, didn't know anyone called Mallam Spicey, so we just assumed it's the lyrical rhyme of a song, but when the fire came burning, we got to find out that there was a beef between the two.

Before I go into the version of Mallam Spicey's return track, this song, Free Madness by Terry G, was a blast when it was released; it came with a unique dance style.
It didn't stop there; the song, out of its sweetness, gave birth to four tracks with the following titles:
    Free madness, part 1
    Free madness, part 2
    Free madness, Part 3
    Free Madness, Part 5.

Did you notice that there's no part 4 and yet it has a part 5??? That's to tell you how crazy the song was. Lol🤣

    • Free Madness, Part 1

This is the original song where Terry G threw a jab at Mallam Spicey. It's so unfortunate that it doesn't have an original video.

    • Free Madness, Part 2

To me, this is the sweetest of them all, maybe because of the original video that came with it. The fastness of the beat and the maximum display of 'madness' by the singer and the dancers are top-notch. This one has a almost the same beat. with the first one...it has a touch of fastness

    • Free madness, part 3

This one happens to be the coolest of them all, and that's because he wasn't the only one featured. It was done by him and his teammate, called the "House of Ginjah." Same beat with the first track.

    • Free Madness, Part 5

This track is not actually an original track; it's a work of a DJ mix, and it trended very well, which made the 'part 5' of a thing very known.
It's a mix of the first part with a rap by Busta Rhyme. You're wondering, which Busta Rhyme is that? It's the famous Busta Rhyme, you know.

Let's talk about Mallam Spicey's diss track

After Mallam Spicey released his diss track on Terry G, we found out that Terry G was making shades on Mallam Spicey on how he usually wears fake and cheap necklaces, which they captioned "bling bling.".

So, Mallam Spicey threw back and told him that all the bling that Terry G wears is not more than one thousand five hundred naira (N1,005), and that became the title of the song.

The most interesting thing is that he used the same sound beat to make the music, and that made a blow in the music industry.
Mallam Spicey mastered the lyrics so well, and it's so sweet to listen to and dance to as well.

    Thanks for reading.
