Good evening, gentlemen, I want to do a survey among hive users to decide which band has the best riff in one of their songs.
I'm going to do two survey posts, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, in those posts I'll write 10 band names and from that band I'll put a song that contains a riff at the beginning of a song.
In order to enter the survey and be able to vote, I'm going to set some rules and how the voting will be done.
What are the rules for entering the survey?
- There are no rules, just leave a comment
Rules for voting
- You can only vote for one song per post: (1 vote on Tuesday and another on Thursday)
- Tuesday's vote cannot be the same as Thursday's
List of candidates for the best band with the best riff
1-.Iommi (Black Sabbath)
1-.Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin)
1-.Eric Clapton (Cream, Derek and the Dominos)
These are the top 10 bands
11-. James Hetfield (Metallica)
12-. Brian May (Queen)
Impact and Legacy
"I Want to Break Free" remains one of Queen's most beloved songs and has become an anthem of freedom and self-expression. Although it was not a huge hit in the United States upon release, it was a huge success in Europe and Latin America. To this day, it remains a song that resonates with all types of audiences, and its message of "breaking chains" continues to be relevant.
13-.Chuck Berry
How great he was and how he played the guitar made him unique in history, Chuck Berry is in the hall of fame of the best guitarists in the world.
14-. Pete Townshend (The Who)
This is the song that closes most of the concerts. Meher Baba, who was a spiritual guru, and Terry Riley were very influential in naming this iconic song.
15-. Stevie Ray Vaughan
16-. Carlos Santana
Another great master playing the guitar, he is the only one who fused rock, Latin music, jazz, blues and was recognized worldwide in the 1960s. Among his greatest achievements are 10 Grammy Awards and 3 Latin Grammy Awards (not a small feat) and he has a place in the great Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
17-. Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine)
18-. Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits)
The powerful riff that opens the song is one of the most recognizable in rock music, and was played on a Les Paul guitar, although it is often associated with Knopfler's Fender Stratocaster guitar. But it doesn't stop there in the chorus of the song in the line "I want my MTV" is said by Sting, the vocalist of The Police.
19-. Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top)
20-. Kurt Cobain (Nirvana)
Well, here you have the first 10 songs, so leave a comment saying which one you choose and on Tuesday I will publish the ranking by votes. Next Tuesday I will publish another 10 songs from other groups.
Whoever guesses who will be number 1 will win hive as a gift, so participate
So tomorrow more and better, gentlemen.
