Hace unos días estuve visitando El Patio, un pintoresco restaurante ubicado en La Avenida 31 de Julio, a la altura del sector de Cocheima en Isla Margarita, especializado en ofrecer menús ejecutivos a un excelente precio y calidad.
Ubicado en una zona rodeada de vegetación, su ambientación es de estilo campestre y el color predomina en todo el lugar, así como la presencia de gran cantidad de plantas que aportan encanto y belleza. Es un lugar donde sin duda te sientes a gusto.
Aunque es un espacio de concepto abierto, gracias al mobiliario lograron realizar una especie de delimitación, ya que en una zona nos encontramos con mesas de maderas y bancos tipo camping, en otras están unas mesas un poco más pequeñas con sillas plásticas, y al fondo del local, hacia lo que yo llamaría el patio, tienen dos mesones grandes en cemento con bancos del mismo material, ideal para grupos grandes.
Se manejan con menús ejecutivos que constan de sopa, plato principal, bebida y postre, por un costo que deja loco a cualquiera, ya que todo esto te cuesta tan solo 3$, lo que es realmente increíble y debo decir que hay una buena relación precio calidad.
Yo diría que su comida es casera, es como comer en casita, pero en un ambiente completamente acogedor y hermoso, y si amas la naturaleza, este sitio es para ti. Es comida reconfortante compuesta por platillos típicos de nuestro país y mucha gastronomía de la isla.
Ese día en particular lo llamaron El festival del cochino, por lo que todos sus platos tenían como ingrediente estrella esta deliciosa proteína.
El menú constaba de una frijolada (bastante generosa, por cierto), y como plato fuerte tenían varias opciones, y cada día es igual, lo que es genial porque no te limitan, sino que aunque se trata de un menú tipo ejecutivo, tienes varias alternativas para escoger la que más te guste.
Ese día en particular tenían strogonoff de cerdo, cerdo a la criolla, taconcitos de cerdo a la jardinera, chuleta con salsa barbecue y chuleta ahumada. En mi caso me decidí por la chuleta a la barbecue que vino acompañada con arroz y ensalada cocida, de papas, zanahoria y remolacha.
Como ven en las imágenes, las porciones están muy bien, y junto al resto de los componentes del menú, la verdad que es más que suficiente.
Ese día la bebida fue nuestro tradicional papelón con limón y como postre otro infaltable de la dulcería venezolana, como lo es al arroz con leche, que estaba muy rico, al igual que todo lo que nos ofrecieron ese día.
En cuanto a su atención, la verdad que fue insuperable, el dueño, además de ser súper amable, estaba atento a cada cosa, con la cordialidad propia de los que vivimos en esta tierra y con un gran sentido del humor.
Mi experiencia en el lugar fue realmente genial, y tanto el ambiente, como la comida y la compañía hicieron de mi almuerzo en El Patio, un momento inolvidable. Sin dudas, es el lugar ideal para compartir con familiares y amigos de un día completamente diferente.
A few days ago I visited El Patio, a picturesque restaurant located on Avenida 31 de Julio, near the Cocheima sector on Margarita Island, specialized in offering executive menus at an excellent price and quality.
Located in an area surrounded by vegetation, its ambiance is country style and color predominates throughout the place, as well as the presence of a large number of plants that add charm and beauty. It is a place where you undoubtedly feel at ease.
Although it is an open concept space, thanks to the furniture they managed to make a kind of delimitation, since in one area we find wooden tables and camping type benches, in others there are a few smaller tables with plastic chairs, and at the back of the place, towards what I would call the patio, they have two large concrete tables with benches of the same material, ideal for large groups.
They offer executive menus consisting of soup, main course, drink and dessert, for a cost that would drive anyone crazy, since all this costs you only 3$, which is really incredible and I must say that there is a good price-quality relation.
I would say that their food is casera, it's like eating at home, but in a completely cozy and beautiful environment, and if you love nature, this place is for you. It is comfort food composed of typical dishes of our country and a lot of gastronomy of the island.
On that particular day they called it The Pig Festival, so all their dishes had this delicious protein as the star ingredient.
The menu consisted of a frijolada (quite generous, by the way), and as a main course they had several options, and every day is the same, which is great because they don't limit you, but even though it is an executive type menu, you have several alternatives to choose the one you like the most.
That particular day they had pork strogonoff, pork a la criolla, pork taconcitos a la jardinera, pork chop with barbecue sauce and smoked pork chop. In my case I chose the barbecue pork chop, which came with rice and a cooked potato, carrot and beet salad.
As you can see in the pictures, the portions are very good, and together with the rest of the components of the menu, the truth is that it is more than enough.
That day the drink was our traditional papelón with lemon and for dessert, another Venezuelan dessert, rice pudding, which was very tasty, just like everything else they offered us that day.
The owner, besides being super friendly, was attentive to everything, with the typical cordiality of those who live in this land and with a great sense of humor.
My experience at the place was really great, and the atmosphere, the food and the company made my lunch at El Patio, an unforgettable moment. Undoubtedly, it is the ideal place to share with family and friends a completely different day.
