We were never going to be anything, I knew it,
when your black eyes like sharp needles
were fixed on me, but I had no fear
before your intimidating look of wild beasts.
With nerves in my belly I threw myself
to the armchair, to the cup and small talk
of when two strangers meet for the first time
without knowing what would happen in the end.
I was then able to leave
without looking back, but I didn't want to.
I stood watching, smiling to cover up the nerves
the nerves that were invading my unattuned being.
It was a chance encounter that fate
led us down paths of the senseless.
