MORE KNOWLEDGE LESS POWER

I have always grown up to learn that knowledge is power, but in this age, I think it’s not entirely true, because knowledge in itself is a two edged sword that can consume even the best of us. There are things that I know today that I wished I wasn’t exposed to early in life as it completely ruined a part of my childhood. As much as I love learning new things I think too much knowledge has made us grow immaturely. We know things we are supposed to know, and things we are not supposed to know. I feel knowing things you are not supposed to know takes spaces of things you were supposed to grow into.

For example, I have a lot of half baked knowledge I am not using, I also see things that contradict what I knew in the past making it hard for me to unlearn what I have already learned. At a point I begin to wonder what is true and what is not, What if there is something out there that would one day contradict what I am now learning. The circle just keeps going on and on, and it’s crazy when I think about it. For the fact that there is a limit to what our minds can handle before we start viewing things from an abnormal perspective (what people refer to as mad) is scary to me. There was a time when I wanted to learn everything there was to learn, but I later found out that life is more simple when you know just enough.

The world is in a lot of chaos today because too much knowledge gave us power and made us stupid. We invented things for one purpose, we found a way to turn what we have learned about that new invention into multiple purposes that causes big issues for us and makes us go looking for solutions which at the end of the day makes us get the solution only at the cost of something valuable. Even after getting the solution, we now discovered other things about that solution creating more problems and solutions and the circle goes on and on. This is what knowledge does, gives you power, and takes it away by making you feel the power you have is no longer sufficient, creating problems with solutions.

But then It’s not our fault that we are smart and intelligent creatures, not to talk about ambitious. I still don’t see reasons why we should have access to so much knowledge. If only there could be a limit to what we could know, not as a form of secrete, but as a form of enlightenment, we will discover that we will naturally learn those things hidden from us because the limit will help us evolve by stretching our minds to think about different things to do with what we know. Our minds already develop naturally, let it grow and not expose it. Today we see kids who can solve Algebras of masters level, does this mean they are no longer kids, NO. It is simply because that area of their minds evolves early. This doesn’t mean that we should rush other areas of their lives, else they will become overgrown babies.
