I have been keen on using the small hooks in my crochet set, so I decided to give it a go. I liked the colour of the PlayStation Logo, which I planned to use.
so I bought sewing threads that match them.
Threads ready, just need to pull!
I used the smallest hook in my set, 0.6 mm for the first time.
I allocated enough time to practice. I have made a few squares and tried to figure out techniques to make it easier and neater. It takes a lot of patience; at times, you can get agitated when it's been long staring at the fine threads, tiny holes, and mini hook!
A few things I discovered: micro crocheting requires a lot more patience, hand control, breaks, focus, concentration, and bright light. It's basically more complex to do than the usual size. Nevertheless, I still find it very interesting, as I'm always inclined to tedious and focused work.
A few important things I found in the process are to make a double magic ring. This allows me to cut the end early so that I am confident it won't get undone.
Remember to tighten the first ring first before pulling the tail so you won't get caught up and unable to close the ring.
The next thing is cutting the ends long enough to tuck them around as you stitch. After a few trials, I managed to do this and make the square more stiff, not flimsy-looking.
But make sure you keep an eye on the ends all the time. Also, good tension and a good grip while creating those intricate stitches are important.
And above all, good rest in between and breaks.

and added a ring.
All in all, micro crocheting is more complex and demands a different set of skills and attention to detail compared to regular-sized projects. It is an enjoyable hobby but it requires an allocated time to be able to do it properly.
It is a very rewarding challenge that offers a unique sense of accomplishment with each finished piece.
I love my set of earrings and the ring and the playstation logo colour I wanted looks striking.
Very proud to use them knowing that I have put an effort to learn.
