Hoy me encontraba ojeando un poco mi Instagram y me topé con una frase del gran poeta Teócrico "Los hombres libres tienen ideas, los sumisos tienen ideologías" e inmediatamente mi mente se puso a divagar y darle vueltas a la frase. Lo que me hizo pensar un par de cosas, por un lado pensaba en la cuestión de la libertad como un factor determinante en esta nueva era digital, y por otro lado pensaba como realmente la sabiduría antigua sigue estando vigente hoy en día.

Quizá esto fue el detonante para las reflexiones de un amante de la filosofía en esta nueva era digital. Ya que las palabras de Teócrito resuenan con especial fuerza en el contexto de la Web3. La libertad es un estandarte hoy en día, ya que esta nueva iteración de internet, basada en la descentralización, la transparencia y la propiedad de los datos, promete un futuro donde la libertad se erige como el valor fundamental. Pero, como todo ideal, la libertad en la Web3 no está exenta de desafíos, y es paradójico pensar como lo que parece ser el aporte de valor, se convierte en un reto.

La Web3 abre las puertas a un sinfín de posibilidades para la expresión individual, la creatividad y el desarrollo de nuevas ideas. Haciendo que los usuarios ya no estarán a merced de grandes corporaciones que controlan sus datos y dictan las reglas del juego. De hecho, recientemente en mi país una de las compañías telefónicas más importantes sufrió un ciber-ataque y parece que toda la información de sus clientes ha sido vulnerada y expuesta, así que en este nuevo escenario de la web3, mucho más seguro, cada individuo tendrá la libertad de elegir qué información compartir, con quién interactuar y cómo construir su propia identidad digital.

Todas las personas que hacemos vida en la Web3 debemos estar preparados para navegar este nuevo ecosistema con discernimiento, para discernir entre hechos y opiniones, para evitar caer en las trampas de la manipulación y el extremismo, creo se vuelve más que imperativo evadir los idealismos.

La libertad en la Web3 también enfrenta el desafío de la desigualdad. Si bien la descentralización y la democratización del acceso a la información son los pilares más fundamentales, la brecha digital y la falta de acceso a las tecnologías necesarias para participar en la Web3 podrían dejar a muchas personas fuera de este nuevo mundo. es por eso necesario, en la medida de lo posible, trabajar en soluciones que garanticen la inclusión y sobre todo al acceso equitativo a las herramientas y recursos que ofrece la Web3.

Como amante de la filosofía, me embarco en este nuevo viaje con una mezcla de esperanza y mucha cautela. No tengo la menor duda que la Web3 es la herramienta que nos lleve a un mundo donde las ideas (no las ideologías) sean las que reinen. Pero, este futuro solo será posible si asumimos todos la responsabilidad de ser ciudadanos digitales activos, críticos y comprometidos con la construcción de una Web3 justa y libre. No por ello se entiende a ser inquisidores y pensar que la libertad que me da la web3 es sinónimo de poder imponer mis pensamientos y creencias, ya que podemos caer en la falacia de pensar de porque me puedo expresar libremente, eso me hace tener la razón.

Muchos y lo digo porque lo he visto, pretenden imponer sus creencias y puntos de vistas como si pretendiesen implantar un statu quo y precisamente en web3 debemos defender que no exista un statu quo. Estimado lector, lamento decirte que la mayoría del tiempo, no tienes la razón, aunque creas tenerla.

En este nuevo mundo digital, la libertad no es un simple regalo, es una conquista, por lo que depende de nosotros convertir la Web3 en un espacio donde las ideas, como creo podría decir Teócrito, florezcan libremente, donde la creatividad no tenga límites y donde la verdad se construya a partir del diálogo y la razón.

A veces, actuamos como policías de la web3, pero, pienso es una respuesta del ego en querer tener un poco de control ya que web3 implica directamente acceder a la idea de no tener el control en lo más minino, así que estimado lector hoy no vengo con sutilezas, sino que, pretendo ser incomodo.

This is undoubtedly one of the riches of freedom. In Web3, freedom of expression will be fundamental for the development of a healthy and prosperous digital society. However, this freedom also implies a great deal of responsibility. In a space where ideas compete without filters, where truth is diluted in a sea of opinions, and where disinformation can spread with great ease, the ability to discern and think critically becomes even more crucial.

All of us who live in Web3 must be prepared to navigate this new ecosystem with discernment, to distinguish between facts and opinions, to avoid falling into the traps of manipulation and extremism. I believe it is more than imperative to avoid idealisms.

Freedom in Web3 also faces the challenge of inequality. While decentralization and democratization of access to information are the most fundamental pillars, the digital divide and the lack of access to the technologies necessary to participate in Web3 could leave many people out of this new world. Therefore, it is necessary, to the extent possible, to work on solutions that guarantee inclusion and, above all, equal access to the tools and resources that Web3 offers.

Freedom in Web3 is an achievement, a promise full of potential but also plagued with challenges. As a lover of philosophy, I embark on this new journey with a mixture of hope and great caution. I have no doubt that Web3 is the tool that will take us to a world where ideas (not ideologies) reign. However, this future will only be possible if we all assume the responsibility of being active, critical, and committed digital citizens in the construction of a fair and free Web3. This does not mean being inquisitors and thinking that the freedom that Web3 gives me is synonymous with the power to impose my thoughts and beliefs. We can fall into the fallacy of thinking that because we can express ourselves freely, we are right.

Sometimes we act as Web3 police, but I think it is an ego response to wanting to have some control. After all, Web3 directly implies accessing the idea of not having control in the slightest. So, dear reader, today I do not come with subtleties, but rather, I intend to be uncomfortable.
