Hola amigos de la comunidad de Movies & Tv, espero que se encuentren bien el día de hoy. Ayer ví una película totalmente inesperada que me llamó la atención por su nombre: Red Rooms. Esta es una historia de género drama, crimen, suspenso psicológico y cómo me gustan este tipo de historias quise verla para saber porque a tantas personas en internet y en Letterboxd les gustó esta historia, así que los invito a leer mi reseña.
Hello friends of the Movies & Tv community, I hope you are well today. Yesterday I saw a totally unexpected movie that caught my attention because of its name: Red Rooms. This is a drama, crime, psychological suspense genre story and as I like this kind of stories I wanted to see it to know why so many people on the internet and on Letterboxd liked this story, so I invite you to read my review.
Red Rooms es una película de origen canadiense de suspenso psicológico que fue estrenada en el 2023, fue escrita y dirigida por Pascal Plante y protagonizada por Juliette Gariépy. La historia comienza hablando sobre un asesino en serie de tres adolescentes víctimas de su mente macabra y su maldad desmedida. Kelly-Anne (Juliette Gariépy) es una de las personas que va a cada una de las sesiones de los casos de la muerte de estas tres jóvenes, pero algo parece afectarle de manera muy profunda y eso es lo que te mantiene viendo la historia hasta el final.
Red Rooms is a Canadian psychological thriller film released in 2023, written and directed by Pascal Plante and starring Juliette Gariépy. The story starts talking about a serial killer of three teenage victims of his macabre mind and his unconscionable evil. Kelly-Anne (Juliette Gariépy) is one of the people who goes to each of the sessions of the cases of the death of these three young girls, but something seems to affect her in a very deep way and that is what keeps you watching the story until the end.
Ludovic Chevalier es quien está siendo juzgado por el asesinato de tres jóvenes menores de dieciséis años, es el principal sospechoso por las pruebas que se encontraron, además de que se declara inocente todo indica que él fue quien cometió los crímenes, crímenes deshumanizados dónde maltrato de maneras horrendas a sus víctimas desde desmembrarlas hasta acabar con sus vidas y no basto solo con esto sino que también grabó los videos mientras estás jovenes agonizaban hasta morir.
Ludovic Chevalier is who is being tried for the murder of three young people under sixteen years, is the main suspect by the evidence that was found, in addition to pleading not guilty, everything indicates that he was the one who committed the crimes, dehumanized crimes where he mistreated his victims in horrendous ways from dismembering them to end their lives and not enough with this but also recorded the videos while these young people agonized to death.
Sin embargo está la presencia de Kelly-Anne en cada una de las audiencias con una actitud bastante extraña y muy sospechosa, además de vivir una vida muy solitaria y tener un departamento lujoso con dos computadoras dónde suele ver contenido de la Deep Web. Por mucho que intenta no estar cerca del caso de las jóvenes, ella siente una necesidad casi obsesiva porque se de una sentencia dónde Ludovic no pueda salir libre de ninguna forma.
However, there is the presence of Kelly-Anne in each of the hearings with a very strange and suspicious attitude, besides living a very lonely life and having a luxurious apartment with two computers where she usually sees content from the Deep Web. As much as she tries not to be near the case of the girls, she feels an almost obsessive need for a sentence where Ludovic can not go free in any way.
Está película es bastante profunda y con mucho suspenso, todo el tiempo te imaginas si tanto el asesino como la protagonista tienen algo que ver en los asesinatos o si tienen algo en común que los une y efectivamente hay una cosa que ambos tienen y es una obsesión morbosa por el contenido extremadamente gráfico y violento. La protagonista que además trabaja como modelo, no tiene otro pasatiempo más que siempre estar al tanto del caso de Ludovic.
This film is quite deep and suspenseful, all the time you wonder if both the murderer and the protagonist have something to do with the murders or if they have something in common that unites them and indeed there is one thing they both have and that is a morbid obsession for extremely graphic and violent content. The protagonist, who also works as a model, has no other hobby than always being aware of Ludovic's case.
Hay muchas cosas que me gustaron de esta película y es que fue grabada de una forma en la que sientes que todo esta planeado de alguna manera para que suceda así. No muestran gráficamente los videos de las víctimas aunque en las últimas audiencias les dan la opción de retirarse a los que no son familiares, por el daño psicológico que estos videos pueden ocasionarles. Pero si usan el sonido como una herramienta para que se sienta más real y doloroso el proceso de las muertes, están los gritos de las víctimas que en lo personal me pusieron bastante nerviosa y fue como sentir que alguien cercano pudiera vivir una situación así y no tener la forma de salir con vida.
There are many things that I liked about this film and it was filmed in a way that makes you feel that everything is somehow planned to happen that way. They don't graphically show the videos of the victims although in the last hearings they give the option to withdraw to those who are not family members, because of the psychological damage that these videos can cause them. But they do use sound as a tool to make the process of the deaths feel more real and painful, there are the screams of the victims that personally made me quite nervous and it was like feeling that someone close to me could live a situation like this and have no way to get out alive.
La película tiene un mensaje muy profundo y es que la sociedad en la que vivimos a normalizado situaciones de violencia y han usado las redes sociales para crear todo un morbo en cuanto a situaciones de violencia y muertes. Además, se puede ver cómo existen grupos de personas que se divierten y se obsesionan con esta clase de contenido que debería ser ilegal y penalizado.
The film has a very deep message and it is that the society in which we live has normalized situations of violence and has used social networks to create a whole morbidity in terms of situations of violence and deaths. In addition, you can see how there are groups of people who have fun and are obsessed with this kind of content that should be illegal and criminalized.
Está película está interesante y creo que los últimos minutos son los mejores aunque toda la película tiene lo suficiente para mantenerte alerta, las actuaciones son excelentes sobre todo la de Juliette Gariépy quien se enfrentó al desafío de hacer el papel de una mujer solitaria y obsesionada con el mundo digital y sus más oscuros secretos. Finalmente pienso que existen muchas personas con este tipo de obsesiones por lo malévolo y lo sádico, es algo muy turbio pero es lo que abunda en este mundo.
This film is interesting and I think the last few minutes are the best although the whole film has enough to keep you on your toes, the performances are excellent especially that of Juliette Gariépy who faced the challenge of playing the role of a lonely woman obsessed with the digital world and its darkest secrets. Finally I think that there are many people with this kind of obsession for the malevolent and sadistic, it is something very shady but it is what abounds in this world.
En conclusión, Red Rooms es una película que deja una sensación extraña e inquietante sobre como la humanidad se ha vuelto cada vez más insensible y cuanta falta de valores deberían existir para que no se cometan actos como asesinar a una persona e incluso usar una camara para grabar la forma en la que fue asesinada. No es para todo el mundo, pero si les interesa una película de suspenso psicológico, está es una muy buena opción.
In conclusion, Red Rooms is a film that leaves a strange and disturbing feeling about how humanity has become increasingly insensitive and how much lack of values should exist so that acts like murdering a person and even using a camera to record the way they were killed are not committed. It is not for everyone, but if you are interested in a psychological thriller, this is a very good choice.
