When family visits during the holidays, we often find places to walkabout. On this day, my family from Panama and I took a stroll along the Charlotte Pier at the Port of Rochester, New York. This is the entry point of the Genesee River from Lake Ontario.
The Port's Marina has many wonderful utilities and services for those patrons and guests. The photo below shows the slips in the marina.
Adjacent to the Marina is the Port Terminal Building. It has restaurants, restrooms, and a large party space for rent overlooking the Genesee River. The video below is a flyover of the area surrounding the Port.
It was a cold, windy day, considering it was winter with the North wind coming off the lake. We did not stay too long but they enjoyed seeing the area.
There were a lot of people walking along the pier which was surprising considering how cold it was.
My daughter-in-law was freezing but my grandson managed okay even though they are used to hot weather all the time. lol
They took a stroll while I enjoyed sitting on the bench in the sun. There were some squirrels nearby that kept thinking I was going to offer them some peanuts or something. Perhaps if they come back for a summer visit we can enjoy visiting the Ontario Beach Park and swimming in Lake Ontario. There are also some fine restaurants in the neighborhood to enjoy as well.
