Narayanganj Railway Station:
- Established: 1885
- Location: In the center of Narayanganj city, near Shitalakshya River.
- Rail Route: Narayanganj to Dhaka. The train stops at about 4 to 5 stations before reaching Dhaka.
- Train Service: Local trains run about 16 times a day (up and down).
From morning to night, the platforms of Narayanganj Railway Station are always full of passenger. Some people go to the office, and some travel to other cities. Whenever I visit this platform, I see a busy and noisy environment.
There is a ticket counter in this station. Tickets are available most of the time. Whenever I travel by train, I always buy a ticket. The fare from Narayanganj to Dhaka Kamalapur Railway Station is only 20 BDT
Next to the ticket counter, there is a waiting area where we can sit and rest before their train arrives.
There are several food stalls on the platform. Here, we can buy tea, samosas, and other snacks. When I travel, I sometimes drink tea from these stalls and buy potato chips.
To keep the station clean, a cleaner works here. He cleans the station twice a day. There are dustbins in different places. But still, some areas have a lot of trash.
The railway tracks at Narayanganj Railway Station are very old. There are many small shops on both sides of the tracks. When a train comes, the shopkeepers quickly close their shops. After the train passes, they open their shops again. I find this very interesting.
Narayanganj Railway Station is under construction now. As far as I know, this station will improve soon. We will also get a new train coach in a few days.
The area around the railway station is mostly open. Near the station, there is a Narayanganj Bus Stand. You can see it in the pictures. Also, there is a mosque under the authority of Narayanganj Railway Station beside the station.
In front of the ticket counter, there is an open space where some railway staff grow vegetables. I found this very interesting.
Local trains run from this station, and I am sharing some pictures of the trains with you.
That’s all for today! I will see you again in my next post with another interesting topic. Stay well, everyone!
