A gift from a friend….

    Afternoon everyone ….

Today is another installment of gifts from my fellow silvergoldstackers friend at the meet up in Las Vegas. This one comes from none other then our famous Canadian scalawaging pirate @thedamus.

If you’ve never met him, then you are missing out for sure. He is a total blast to hang out with. As I’m sure any of the silvergoldstackers would agree.

As I’m sure you have read on other posts about the Las Vegas meet up, as well as my previous posts. We’ve kinda started a tradition of a gift exchange as a group. It’s totally optional, but everyone really seems to enjoy it.

    Well….

The bloody old pirate hit me up with this fantastic piece, that actually had my eye on since it was released. It’s the 2024 Wooly Mammoth coin from The Royal Canadian Mint. And it’s two ounces of silver.

Here’s a little info on it:
New from the Royal Canadian Mint is the second design in the Ice Age series showcasing creatures from Canada's prehistoric past! This year's coin features the giant woolly mammoth.

    Coin Highlights:
Contains 2 oz of .9999 fine silver.
Obverse: The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.
Reverse: On the reverse there is a woolly mammoth design. In this image, we see his giant curved tusks and open jaw. This thrilling design is credited to Julius Csotonyi, a paleoartist based in Canada. Next to the design you will find a micro-engraving security feature that consists of a maple leaf and the number 24, corresponding to the year of release.
Guaranteed by the Royal Canadian Mint.
    About the Woolly Mammoth
The giant of the Ice Age, the woolly mammoth makes its presence known as it steps across the second release in this bullion coin series featuring prehistoric portraits. A megafauna from Canada’s prehistoric past, Mammuthus primigenius stood over three meters tall at the shoulder and weighed as much as 8 tonnes (17,600 lbs). It is easily recognized by the long, curved tusks that are some of the most distinctive fossils of Canada’s Ice Age.

    Now for the coin…
