I am aware that we learn new things everyday but for today's #inleo prompt, I was met with something I had never heard of before and so not to lose out and lose face, I picked up my phone and went to my regular personal assistant....google, to make some findings. Turns out that this was something I do once in a while but I never really knew the "code name" for it. Life can be so funny. Now that I know what it means, let's all see what the "code name I'm talking about is"...
Digital detox is to voluntarily refrain from using digital devices for a given period of time.....my paraphrased definition after researching.
Goals
This voluntary avoidance of using digital devices could be for any of the following goals or purposes;
To reduce stress & anxiety.
To improve mental clarity.
To reduce visual noise and distractions".
To promote more physical interactions and activities.
To improve sleep quality....... e.t.c
This voluntary abstinence from digital devices can be for a short period of time like on weekends or it could be as long as for a whole week. It could also be done on a regular basis when a digital user decides to set timers for how long he or she wants to use their digital devices per day and another angle to it is going on a "digital- free vacation". That sounds so nice except for me, I'll be bored to death 😁.
Personally, I could refrain from using my digital devices especially my smart phone for some hours a day. The longest time for me would be the weekends but after that, it's back to my phone. I'm not addicted to my phone, if that is what y'all might be thinking 😜 rather it is my major means of communication via chats and texts.
So would I..?
"Come January 2025, I resolve to reduce the amount of time that I spend using my phone or any other digital device on a daily basis." (New year entry resolution).

This is what I'm sure I can do for a digital detox. I wish I could resolve for a digital-free vacation but that would be me dabbling in dishonesty and I don't want to enter the new year in that manner. I would consider a digital detox as I begin the new year but only for a short while as I need to get back online and hustle.
My phone is my mini business hub, my social point of contact and my e-commerce hub for money transactions. I really think that it would be nice just to stay away from my phone and all the distractions of the internet and connect more with my physical environment and the people in it. This is good for creating connections and that is why I make the resolution to digitallly detox for a few hours everyday when I start the new year. I would use those few hours off my gadgets to mingle more and form new bonds.

I could also use those hours off my devices to explore nature, visit friends, read a new book or perhaps gain more sleep time and add some weight unto my skinny self 😁. Whichever way it goes, the goal is to be productive and that's what I'm going to aim for.
Thank you all for reading. This is my participation for the #decemberinleoinitiative day 4.
