Here is a a fun thing to try if you are a smartphone user who takes a lot of photos with the device, as i do. Plus this will work very well with Ecency. Think of a keyword and search for it in your photos app.
Mine for today is “Clock”. I tapped this into the search field for the app and it revealed the following images.
These images all span a number of years and this one I recall taking during the pandemic. There was a place we would go to frequently for our daily one hour exercise allowance. Aldershot army golf course was ideal as the parkland could be used by walkers keeping a distance from eachother. The clock must be there for the golfers? I never got to know.
Train stations especially heritage railways all feature at least one or two great timepieces and make for great photographs. I came across this specimen at Alton I think or one of rhe other stations between there and Arlesford in Hampshire.
The next clock I came across in the wild was this one taken a few years ago when we visited Llangollen, North Wales. I would like to return, so that we can take a trip on the railway line.
Earlier this year we took a trip to Milestones Museum just outside Basingstoke. I highly recommend it. One of the displays in there caught my eye, showed a row of household gas meters, all of which had clocks on them.
Hungerford Town Hall is a lovely old building that dates back 800 years or so and nowadays a venue for many events. The history of the Town Clocks is an interesting read.
It was fun pulling together this little selection today on a Sunday afternoon.
