I have decorated both the inside and outside for two weeks now. As many of you already know, I had my family visit from Panama, so I had to get a head start on all the decorations. I will share some of that with you today and start with the outdoor decor.
Daytime:
Nightime: This is the front of the house where I put candy canes and lights surrounding the front porch.
I had made a Christmas tree with lights out of an upside-down tomato cage. We had torn out all our shrubs this year and I did not have anything to put lights on.
In the right photo is the top half of my old artificial tree that I replaced this year. It came in handy to fill in some space in the garden to the left of the front entrance.
All the ornaments are plastic from the Dollar Store so it is no big deal if they get ruined by the weather.
On the inside of the house, I will start with the family room. The fireplace is decorated with a swag, as well as the entryway.
I put one behind the sofa too and took down the artwork to hang this twig wreath that I made a few years ago.
This is the new flocked tree that I splurged on this year. I decided to use mostly the white, silver, and blue for the tree and swag.
I did share the tree in a previous post after I got it unboxed. You can see that process and more decorations there.
The main floor includes the living, dining room, and kitchen. I always do a lot of decorations in these areas because we spend a lot of time here.
The large basket with all the florals on the small stand is probably over 25 years old. I have yet to get tired of it and often use it somewhere in the house.
These plate hangers are on each side of my dining room server. I change the plates out for every holiday or season depending on what's happening.
This is the server in the dining room which I also change accordingly. This year I decided to wrap the top with Christmas paper that says Merry Christmas on it. It was a nice accent base for all the trees and gingerbread houses.
I used to have an enormous village set that I would put here but after 40 years I decided to change things up.
I added this deer to the ensemble last year and I just love him.
The right photo is an arrangement on a small table that sits next to the stairs going up to the bedrooms. In the right photo, in the corner of my kitchen, is a hutch next to the kitchen table. I wrapped this with paper too and put these decorations on top. The candles are battery-operated and have a nice flicker to them.
I put a few things on the windowsill above the kitchen sink using the same colors and theme throughout the main floor.
This is the swag that hangs between the dining room and kitchen. I have a simple crystal-like theme here to keep it light.
Last but not least, I have a white Christmas tree in the living room area that I left for my 6-year-old grandson to decorate.
Here is a closeup of the decorations he used from one of the bins. When he finished putting all the ornaments on the tree, he asked if I liked it. I said, of course, I do it is just beautiful Maximus. He was so cute when he responded, well that's good because I worked very hard at it grandma. LoL
I loved how he put so much in the center of the tree which was the perfect height for him. Well, I said I would share how I decorated the house this year and here it all is. I hope you enjoyed seeing all my craziness, after all, it is my favorite holiday.
Until next time, this is Sunscape
