Kruger National Park - 30th Birthday memory

Just back from a 3 night stay at Kuger Terrace Hotel near the Phalaborwa Gate to the Kruger National Park, South Africa. We were there to celebrate Kiara's 30th birthday.

    Elegant dining under the stars

Phalaborwa is the site of the 'Big Hole', the earth's largest man-made hole, visible from space and pretty awe inspiring, even if you're not impressed by mines in general. Mining and smelting of copper and iron ore date back to 400 AD.

We used the Phalaborwa gate to enter the Kruger National Park.

We were blessed to sight elephants on 3 differents places and elephants are truly magnificent creatures.

The breakfasts at the Hotel were amazing

It was a real treat to have steak with salad and chips on one of the mornings.

Prior to our trip we were fortunate to visit my 96 year old grandmother. She was in good humour and we were able to celebrate Christmas with her.

    A celebratory dessert

I'm not normally a dessert person, but this one was too good to resist..

Looking forward to the year ahead and what 2025 has in store for us.

On New Years Eve we set about making our vision boards for the New Year. The weather in Johannesburg was mostly raining for the last couple of weeks.

We were pleased that it rained a lot while we were in the Kruger Park as they had suffered some drought and animals were sadly dying from lack of water - so the heavy rains were a blessing.
