What is forgiveness?
Forgiveness simply means letting go of people who have hurt you in the past and erasing their wrongs from your heart. I know it is a very hard decision, but we must take that step.
As humans, people will hurt and wrong us, so it is also good to always find a place in our hearts to forgive them.
The word forgiveness may look simple, but it is the most difficult thing for us humans. It is very hard for us to let go of people who hurt.
We have this mindset that the only time we can be okay is when revenge on the person that hurt us. Forgiving someone is like lifting one heavy burden from your mind.
I can still remember when i was growing up our priest will always tell us forgive people who wrong you so that your heavenly father will also forgive us believe me this word forgiveness is very easy to say but when it comes to forgiving someone who wrong you it is the hardest decision to take.
Coming to me i don't forgive easily it take time for me to forgive who ever that hurt me so deeply before i used to think that forgiveness is an easy thing not until someone i trust some much hurt as the process of resenting him i become so bitter that anything i see him i feel hurt over and over again my wound became fresh but the very day i make up my mind to forgive myself why did i say forgive for myself because the person i was resenting didn't even care if i forgive him or not.
Seriously, it limited me from many things, both my mental and physical health. There is no month I won't visit a hospital. The very day I decided to let go of everything, I found out I became the happy girl I used to be, and I realized I had freed myself from bondage.
Not forgiving limits us to so many things; we will always dwell in the past, which will limit us from moving ahead or forward.
Why is forgiveness important?
If forgiveness is not important, the holy book will not talk about it.
- If you let go, there is inner peace. If you forgive whoever is wrong, you will have this settled mind and inner peace of mind.
- Forgiveness is very good for health, both mental and physical. I remember when I was resenting someone, I was always visiting the hospital.
Conclusion: I know it will be very hard for us to forgive people who wrong us. We should always find a place in our hearts to let go of people who wrong us.
