Good afternoon friends, may God bless you greatly on this Friday, to end the week I share with you a passage from the sacred scriptures that is an exhortation to live a life that reflects the spiritual transformation that has occurred in believers. By living as "children of light," displaying the fruit of the Spirit and discerning what is pleasing to the Lord, Christians demonstrate the reality of their faith and the active presence of God in their lives.

For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness and truth), proving what is pleasing to the Lord.

Ephesians 5:8-10

Amen.

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light."

• "Once upon a time you were darkness": Paul reminds believers of their life before knowing Christ. It does not say that they were in darkness, but that they were darkness, indicating a nature completely immersed in sin and spiritual ignorance.
• "But now you are light in the Lord": The transformation that occurs in believers when they accept Christ. This light is not your own, but is in the Lord, that is, it comes from your relationship with Christ.
• "Walk as children of light": Called to live in accordance with this new identity. "Walking" implies a continuous lifestyle, reflecting your inner change in your daily actions.

"(for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness and truth)"

• "The fruit of the Spirit": Refers to the qualities and behaviors that the Holy Spirit produces in believers. It contrasts with the works of the flesh mentioned in Paul's other writings.
• "Goodness, justice and truth": Three specific characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit.
  • Kindness: Act with kindness and generosity towards others.
  • Justice: Living in an upright and just manner, according to the will of God.
  • Truth: Being truthful and transparent, reflecting God's truth in all areas of life.

"proving what is pleasing to the Lord."

• "Checking": This verb implies active examination and discernment. Believers must constantly evaluate their actions and thoughts to ensure they are aligned with what pleases God.
• "What is pleasing to the Lord": The goal of the Christian life is to live in a way that pleases God. This requires knowledge of His will and a desire to conform to it.

Practical application

1. Transformed Identity: Believers must constantly remember that they have been transformed by Christ, passing from darkness to light.
2. Living the Light: This transformation must be reflected in your daily life, showing kindness, justice and truth in your actions and relationships.
3. Active Discernment: Christians must evaluate their lives in light of God's Word, seeking to please Him in everything they do.

Buenas tardes amigos, que Dios les bendiga grandemente en este viernes, para terminar la semana les comparto un pasaje de las sagradas escrituras que es una exhortación a vivir una vida que refleje la transformación espiritual que ha ocurrido en los creyentes. Al vivir como "hijos de luz", mostrando el fruto del Espíritu y discerniendo lo que es agradable al Señor, los cristianos demuestran la realidad de su fe y la presencia activa de Dios en sus vidas.

Porque en otro tiempo erais tinieblas, mas ahora sois luz en el Señor; andad como hijos de luz (porque el fruto del Espíritu es en toda bondad, justicia y verdad), comprobando lo que es agradable al Señor.

Efesios 5:8-10

"Porque en otro tiempo erais tinieblas, mas ahora sois luz en el Señor; andad como hijos de luz."

• "En otro tiempo erais tinieblas": Pablo recuerda a los creyentes su vida antes de conocer a Cristo. No dice que estaban en tinieblas, sino que eran tinieblas, indicando una naturaleza completamente inmersa en el pecado y la ignorancia espiritual.
• "Mas ahora sois luz en el Señor": La transformación que ocurre en los creyentes cuando aceptan a Cristo. Esta luz no es propia, sino que es en el Señor, es decir, proviene de su relación con Cristo.
• "Andad como hijos de luz": Llamado a vivir de acuerdo con esta nueva identidad. "Andar" implica un estilo de vida continuo, reflejando su cambio interior en sus acciones diarias.

"(porque el fruto del Espíritu es en toda bondad, justicia y verdad)"

• "El fruto del Espíritu": Se refiere a las cualidades y comportamientos que el Espíritu Santo produce en los creyentes. Contrasta con las obras de la carne mencionadas en otros escritos de Pablo.
• "Bondad, justicia y verdad": Tres características específicas del fruto del Espíritu.
  • Bondad: Actuar con amabilidad y generosidad hacia los demás.
  • Justicia: Vivir de manera recta y justa, conforme a la voluntad de Dios.
  • Verdad: Ser veraces y transparentes, reflejando la verdad de Dios en todas las áreas de la vida.

"comprobando lo que es agradable al Señor."

• "Comprobando": Este verbo implica un examen y discernimiento activo. Los creyentes deben evaluar constantemente sus acciones y pensamientos para asegurarse de que estén alineados con lo que agrada a Dios.
• "Lo que es agradable al Señor": La meta de la vida cristiana es vivir de manera que agrade a Dios. Esto requiere conocimiento de Su voluntad y un deseo de conformarse a ella.

Aplicación Práctica

1. Identidad Transformada: Los creyentes deben recordar constantemente que han sido transformados por Cristo, pasando de la oscuridad a la luz.
2. Vivir la Luz: Esta transformación debe reflejarse en su vida diaria, mostrando bondad, justicia y verdad en sus acciones y relaciones.
3. Discernimiento Activo: Los cristianos deben evaluar sus vidas a la luz de la Palabra de Dios, buscando agradarle en todo lo que hacen.
