March dump: A Heartfelt Recap of Shared Moments with Family and Friends

Hello Hivers! It's me, Jean. It feels so good to be back, I missed writing and sharing my experiences with you all. I have gone for a while due to personal reasons, plus school and other stuff. But anyway, I'm back. I won't promise but I will try my best to keep in touch with you all and write my future blogs. So for today's blog, I will share some of the memories that we've created together with my family, friends, and loved ones without further ado let's get started.

I spent the month of March with my family and friends. Since we had no classes in March, I decided to give myself time to rest and catch up with my friends and family. I went home to our province in Daanbantayan to attend my "Nanay's" 60th birthday, which is my mother's sibling. Her child also came home from Taiwan, which made her even happier because she hadn't seen her in six years.
Days after I returned to Cebu, one of my friends invited me to attend her parents' wedding. We went straight to the venue to help with decorating and cooking for the guests. She also invited our other friends, and we all chipped in to stay overnight at the venue. The night was filled with storytelling, joking around, teasing, and a little drinking until we fell asleep, and went home the next morning.
My two friends invited me to eat out, which was to have samgyupsal. They are my closest friends whom I love dearly. I've known them since senior high school. Even though we only see each other occasionally due to our conflicting schedules, we're always there for each other. We talked about what's been happening in their lives, teased each other, caught up, and filled the night with laughter. Around 10 pm, we decided to head home. Cris made sure we got home safely by dropping us off at our respective stops and checking our group chat to ensure that the two of us, his friends, arrived home safely.
On March 12, 2024, we received sad news that one of my closest friends lost their home due to a fire. According to him, it was due to the negligence of their neighbor who fell asleep while cooking and didn't realize that the butane had exploded. With that, we immediately made a plan to visit him and provide them with clothes, food, and other essentials they might need. When we visited to check on them, I could still see the smile on his face. He has several siblings, but you couldn't see any sign of hardship on his face. He chose not to continue his college to help his parents and siblings. I admire his resilience as he managed to keep up with us and maintain his sense of humor despite the challenges he has been through.

Lastly, on March 27, 2024, we celebrated my mother's 53rd birthday. One of her siblings and their children attended. I was happy to see her joyfully celebrating her birthday, yet at the same time, saddened because she's getting older.
Nonetheless, I am happy to have spent my vacation with my loved ones. There were highs and lows, but the most important thing is we have each other's backs. And above all, it's not wrong to focus on work and studies, but it's also important to learn to rest, to give time to oneself and to others, because nothing can surpass the beautiful memories we have created and will continue to create together with our loved ones.

And that is all for today. Thank you so much for taking time to read my new blog. Stay safe everyone!
