I used to believe that memecoins were not a big deal. In fact, they are useless and apparently they don't have any fundamentals. However, in these days I have seen the amount of profits that some memecoins obtained. It seems there is smart money flowing into this narrative and I would like to take my part.
Useless coins with good marketing
Some of these coins are funny and viral, with an active community behind them. I think this marketing effort drives demand to the coin. At the end of the day, the value of any coin is determined by its demand. There is no need to overthink in tokenomics, use cases, whitepapers, and so on. When demand excess supply, then price increases. That's all.
Zero sum game
I have seen that some traders look for these coins when they are in their early stage. Some of them do their research using tools like arkham intelligence, dextools, etc., to see if they can identify whales to copy their moves. It's a risky trade but with huge rewards. The important thing is to know when to enter and leave. Additionally, it would be good to have a risk-taking mindset, and being conscious that losses can happen. When somebody earns money, another one lose.

Conclusion
The Memecoin narrative will stay for a while. I will take some risk and add some of these coins to my porfolio, but I have to define a strategy to invest in them.
