Mulching, Garden Maintenance, and Much, Much MORE!

If you've been following me, you know that April And MAY were EXTREMELY busy times for me, for work. I spent an absurd amount of time in hotels, traveling around the nation, for work. SO much so, that my yards and gardens got out of hand. What time I did have, i couldn't afford to spend doing maintenance, or weeding. Well, I PAID for it. This past couple of weeks, I spent so much time, weeding and mulching, that, I believe I over did it.

I could not be any more sore, short of actual traction or a broken bone...
Fortunately, I had a window, to take advantage of the last of the reasonable weather (no killer HOT days and nights), and do some garden weeding, maintenance, put down some mulch, and lots of little garden tasks, for early June.

RIGHT after the truck dumped a HUGE pile of Hemlock Mulch

It's mostly gone now, maybe 2 yards? 3 yards? maybe, left for me to move. I've moved maybe 5 or 6 so far, of these wheel barrow's worth of weeds, and many more to cut down and remove. the one's without seed go into my compost. The rest to be recycled.

Wish my back, and me, luck in finishing before the garden dies from snows!!!

what garden tasks do you HATE? How do you motivate yourself to get those done?

My gardens are in Zone 7a/7b New England.

Most of you know, I prefer to grow my own food, locally. It's healthier for my family, and for the planet. I know what goes into my foods, and what chemicals are NOT in my food. Also, It cuts down on carbon emissions, less trucking, planes, trains, and boats, to get fresh foods to my table.

And that makes me smile... better for the planet, better for my own family.
