Una introducción necesaria
Desde 2017 participo, como miembro profesional de la feria porque la editorial que dirijo forma parte de la Cámara Cubana del Libro y tenemos acceso a participar como miembros profesionales del evento, con nuestras credenciales que nos dan vía libre para todas las actividades de la feria.
Pero, en esta publicación les contaré mi participación como un participante más haciendo énfasis en los libros preferidos por mí en este evento y que afortunadamente pude comprarlos. Debo aclarar que no pude adquirir todos los que quería comprar, pero sí me llevé a mi casa algunos de los más importantes.
Es importante aclarar que en esta publicación referiré elementos generales de los libros comprados porque a cada uno de ellos dedicaré una publicación en la comunidad, en las semanas siguientes a esta publicación.
Temas de los libros comprados
Es cierto que he leído y leo libros que tratan una gran variedad de temas, pero, al igual que la mayoría de los lectores, comenzamos por un género determinado (policiaco, romántico, aventuras, etc.,) y con el paso de los años nos vamos especializando en los temas literarios de nuestro agrado. En mi caso ese proceso ha ocurrido así y, aunque, puedo leer un libro de Agatha Christie o Arthur Conan Doyle, lo cierto es que mis preferencias literarias están entre mi pasión por el deporte, todo lo que tiene que ver con mi profesión que abarcan temas que tienen que ver con las Ciencias Naturales como cuidado del medio ambiente, Geografía y temas vinculados con la salud humana.
Los libros comprados en la Feria Internacional del Libro

Generalidades de estos libros
Béisbol y nación en Cuba
En este libro el autor, doctor en Ciencias Félix Julio Alfonso López agrupa varios libros escritos por el autor en los que aborda elementos esenciales de una actividad que más allá de ser nuestro deporte nacional, es pasión y vida del cubano. En el texto Félix Julio refleja como este deporte ha jugado un papel importante en la formación e identidad de nuestra cultura.
En el libro conjuga el papel de este deporte, en armonía con otros elementos que distinguen al cubano como su música, la literatura, el azúcar o el teatro. De igual manera, se reflejan nuestras relaciones con otros países como Estados Unidos, Venezuela, México y otros países en los que la presencia del béisbol cubano ha sido importante.
Yipsi Moreno: La Furia de Agramonte
Este es otro de esos libros que hace rato estaba buscando porque aborda los elementos de la vida deportiva y personal de una de las atletas cubanas que más he admirado. El otro elemento que se suma a lo anterior es que una de sus autoras es una hivers destacada de nuestro ecosistema y que responde al nombre de Lilian Cid Escalona y en Hive la puedes encontrar como @lilyancid.
Martín Dihígo: El Inmortal
Este forma parte de la Enciclopedia del Béisbol Cubano, en la que los tres autores abordan la biografía de alguno de los principales peloteros que han nacido en esta isla. De manera particular se aborda la del que es considerado como el mejor pelotero cubano de todos los tiempos llamado Martín Dihígo, quien se ganó el sobrenombre de El Inmortal.
Zonas Costeras de Cuba. Importancia, protección y uso sostenible
Cuba es una isla y una de sus características esenciales es la cantidad de costas que tiene y su irregularidad. En tal sentido, estas costas son utilizadas para diversas actividades económicas como la pesca y el turismo. De igual manera, en el libro se aborda la importancia de su cuidado y uso racional y sostenible. Otro elemento importante del libro es su sintonía con un macroproyecto que se desarrolla en el instituto donde trabajo que tiene que ver con el incremento del nivel del mar y la protección de las costas cubanas.
Tácticas para vencer las drogas blandas y duras, consejos de un viejo adictólogo
Este libro no lo andaba buscando, pero, me parece que es un testimonio esencial para personas que han padecido o padecen de estas adicciones. De manera particular, tengo dos personas cercanas que han sufrido de estas y lo compré para ver cómo puedo ayudarles.

Estos son los cinco libros que se convirtieron en parte de mi dinero, en conocimiento y en manera de cultivar mi intelecto.

A necessary introduction
The International Book Fair of Havana, Cuba, has concluded and, as every year, I feel an emptiness in my soul, not being able to be among that bustle of people and smells of new books and others not so much. It is something I should be used to because there are already 32 editions of the book fair and, although I have not been able to participate in all of them, most of them have had me as an eternal protagonist.
Since 2017 I participate, as a professional member of the fair because the publishing house I direct is part of the Cuban Book Chamber and we have access to participate as professional members of the event, with our credentials that give us free access to all the activities of the fair.
But, in this publication I will tell you about my participation as one more participant, emphasizing my favorite books in this event and that fortunately I was able to buy them. I should clarify that I was not able to buy all the books I wanted to buy, but I did take home some of the most important ones.
It is important to clarify that in this publication I will refer to general elements of the books purchased because I will dedicate a publication to each of them in the community, in the weeks following this publication.
Themes of the books purchased
It is true that I have read and I read books that deal with a great variety of topics, but, like most readers, we start with a certain genre (crime, romance, adventures, etc.) and with the passing of the years we specialize in the literary topics of our liking. In my case this process has happened in this way and, although I can read a book by Agatha Christie or Arthur Conan Doyle, the truth is that my literary preferences are between my passion for sports, everything that has to do with my profession, which include topics that have to do with Natural Sciences such as environmental care, Geography and topics related to human health.

Baseball and nation in Cuba
In this book the author, Doctor in Sciences Felix Julio Alfonso Lopez groups several books written by the author in which he approaches essential elements of an activity that beyond being our national sport, is passion and life of the Cuban. In the text Felix Julio reflects how this sport has played an important role in the formation and identity of our culture.
In the book he combines the role of this sport, in harmony with other elements that distinguish Cubans, such as music, literature, sugar or theater. Another important element of the book is its harmony with a macro project being developed at the institute where I work, which has to do with the increase in sea level and the protection of Cuban coasts.
Tactics to beat soft and hard drugs, advice from an old addict
I was not looking for this book, but it seems to me that it is an essential testimony for people who have suffered or are suffering from these addictions. In particular, I have two people close to me who have suffered from these addictions and I bought it to see how I can help them.
A final comment
These are the five books that became part of my money, knowledge and a way to cultivate my intellect.
