90% of men are known to be less emotional like the opposite gender. Often times, men tend to not express their emotions as they feel: even when they are so happy, men would still not express it so much like they feel. That's why we are men😎.
My dad is the type you'd always be happy to meet when he's back from work, not the type that you want to avoid when he's back from work. Aside the goodies he brings home then, he was always welcoming and ready to hear whatever we have to tell him. I did not really understand my dad until I grew up to around 18 -20 years of age. He is a man of principle and really hates anything laziness or close to it, he is hardworking, a man that can become a mother for his children when his wife is not around.
I have seen my dad happy countless times, with us, in church, amongst his friends and collegues. But seeing him so happy for very long hours and the happiness so obvious on his face is rare. One of these rare time was when we celebrated him so well on his birthday, though he was the one who spent money but it was a memorable one that my family and I won't forget anytime soon. It was during covid-19 but the restrictions weren't so heavy anymore where we were staying: it was August. My sister suggested we go out instead of celebrating it at home, after mentioning out places that seems fit for the celebration, we agreed on one.
On his birthday that year, we bought him a cake and 8 cupcakes to suprise my dad, we didn't buy any drink since we were going to buy when we go out. An hour before leaving the house, we got dressed, took many pictures with my dad and his cake. We left for the place, it was a beach. I have been there before but I never knew is was a large place. It had several segments so we went to the one where variety of food was sold very close to the water. I loved it already and felt like jumping into the water.
We order 4 big size barbeque and drinks, one for my dad and mom, one for my sisters, one for my cousin and a guy staying with us and one for my friend and I, then we feasted for an hour and some minutes. That was the best barbeque I've tasted yet. After eating, we fed our eyes with the sight of the water and it waves coming towards us, hitting the walls of the foundation and making loud sound. We took many pictures of ourselves and my dad had a big and radiating smile on his face.
After the pictures, we ordered two more barbeque and malt drinks. It was already evening and the sun was setting. There was a very beautiful view of the sun set on the waters this time. It was so attractive and pleasant to stare at, we took pictures of the view even though we wish we could keep the sun set orange and yellow colour shinning on the water for eternity. We left before the night fell and my dad still had this warm smile on his face, my eldest sister told him about his smile and he confessed that he was really happy about the whole celebration.
I am already looking forward to another celebration like that this year, we have not been able to celebrate him on his birthday because of his work schedule but now he is retired, he would be around for his birthday.
