A Little Something about Myself—Introduction

    Hii Guys

My name is Nwakuche Chidera Mildred Alexandria. I was born on the 7th of May 2000. I am from Anaocha Local Government Area in Anambra State, which is in the eastern part of Nigeria. I was born in Lagos State.

Let me tell you a little bit about my hometown. Honestly, I didn’t grow up in the eastern part of Nigeria, which is where my village is located, but I go there every Christmas for the holiday. So let me tell you about my experience during the Christmas holiday.

When we get to the village, we clean up the house of all the dust accumulated over the months we weren’t there. There are also traditional occasions done during the Christmas holiday where we go to the market square to watch the masquerades. Often times, these holiday times are the only times we’re able to see family members, so we catch up and have fun.

    My Educational Background

I had my primary education in St. Jude’s private school and secondary (2 schools) in Augusta International School and St. Jude’s secondary school in Lagos State. My university education was at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Enugu.

I studied political science under the faculty of social science. I won’t truthfully say I’m a lover of politics though, but while studying the course I was able to learn a lot about life and the government matters. The university wasn’t limited to only Igbo persons; people of different tribes and religions attended this institute of education.

As an Igbo girl, living in the midst of other tribes actually helped me understand their language (although I’m not fluent), customs, and traditions.

Right now I’m going through the National Youth Service (NYSC), a one-year training where you are called to serve the nation. It involves three weeks where you are deployed to different states and then sent to work in different places like schools, companies, hospitals, etc. for the remaining year.

There is the monthly clearance you do at the beginning of the month, and then, in particular, the remaining weeks you have your community development service (CDS), and at the end of the month you are paid a monthly allowance.

The president has increased the monthly allowance to 70k, just like the minimum wage, but it hasn’t been implemented for us yet, so we are still receiving the normal amount it has been for years, which is 33k. All in all, my NYSC service has been a fun one, although most people don’t like the program, but I do.

I made a lot of friends in camp

I met different kinds of people and even met friendly and caring soldiers. I also met a name sake who turned out to be a very good friend to me. I love a lot of things, some of the things I like doing include reading novels on my phone in book apps, watching movies, and making new friends.

    HOW I DISCOVERED HIVE

I got to know Hive through my friend Udogalanya Chioma Victoria @vickiee, who found out about it through another friend of ours, Okwu Ifunanya Zita @zitalove. She told me about how I can learn different things and also make some little earnings from it.

When she told me about it, I was a bit reluctant because I am not really that much of a writer, but as the saying goes, “we learn every day,” and I am open to learning new things. Later, I decided to give it a try. I am really happy to be here because I know I will learn a lot of new things and hopefully make new friends.

TYPES OF CONTENTS I FIND INTERESTING

I’m sure I would be interested in political, funny, educational contents, and the like. I don’t really know much about Hive, but I am open to learning more about it and the communities I come across.

    MY EXPECTATIONS

I expect to be consistent and involved in this platform. I am excited to meet new people from all over the globe and make new friends! I also want to learn from Hive and help Hive grow in any way I can.

Thanks for taking the time out to read “a little something about myself." I would appreciate it if you left a welcoming comment below.
