Finally, finally. I'm going to have my first kiss with Joshua." This was what Tolani thought when she received the news about her admission to Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria to study accounting, which is meant to be her boyfriend's school.
Tolani and Joshua have been in a long-distance relationship right from their secondary days, but due to distance, their relationship seems to be at a distance
She picked up her phone and dialed Joshua's phone number.
“Wait a minute, do you stay off camp or in the hostel?” Tolani asked, as she just wanted to know.
“You know I love staying alone and do not prefer staying outside my domain. So, I'm staying in the hostel since that will be so close to the school," Joshua replied.
“That's nice. One of my cousins studied at that same school some years ago, and he mentioned some hostels and their respective names. Which part are you staying in?” Tolani, who was so inquisitive, asked.
“Your questions coming one after the other are becoming too much for me here," Joshua replied out of curiosity.
“Do you mean I shouldn't ask you anything again? If so, I will never ask anymore." Tolani angrily aborted the call.
“No, I was just joking. I'm staying in the new park hostel and hostel number 20. Are you happy now?” Joshua just needed to apply some sense to calm Tolani a bit.
“Alright, but don't try that next time," she replied.
“Yes, your majesty," Joshua replied.
“I love you," Tolani said, but Joshua immediately aborted the call without replying.
Meanwhile, she had gained admission to the same university as Joshua but refused to let him know about it. She began the process since the school was not far from their town. She just wanted to use that to surprise his love.
The very first day she entered the school compound, she met with a guy who helped her carry out some admissions process. This guy helped her with so many difficult tasks, and she was so grateful.
“Please, can I have your phone number?” The guy demanded.
With all her heart, she gave him her phone number. “Anyway, I'm Ken," he replied.
“I'm Tolani," she replied, after which they separated.
“Please, where are you right now?” Tolani called Joshua from her phone.
“Oh, I'm at home. I'm back from school, and I decided to sleep a bit before reading," Joshua said.
“Alright then, just take good care of yourself," she replied.
Without wasting time, she proceeded to Joshua's hostel. The hostel location was so easy to locate.
"Knock, knock, knock!!!” she knocked without saying a word.
“Yes, who is that?” Joshua answered.
Tolani did not answer, instead knocking harder.
Joshua rushed and opened the door, and to his surprise, he met Tolani.
“What!! It's you. Why don't you tell me you were coming?” Joshua asked in surprise, but without letting Tolani in.
“Babe, who is that?” A voice from the room echoed out.
“Who is that in there? Don't tell me you have been cheating on me since you assumed the school.” She asked.
“Em…", Joshua was unable to answer her question and was unable to allow Tolani in his room.
“After some time, the lady came out, and Tolani attempted slapping, but she immediately withdrew her hands.
“I was the one who single-handedly asked Dad to pay your school fees just because of the way our relationship had gone, and now you came here carrying women '', Tolani said in anger.
“It's not what you think," Joshua, who had no explanation for his deed, said.
“It's over between us, and I will inform my parents when I get home," Tolani said while tears were dripping down her cheek.
Joshua began to call Tolani, but she refused to answer his calls. He gave her a series of messages and voice messages, but Tolani just decided not to reply to any.
A week later, she resumed school and decided to leave the school compound. She was on her way to the lecture center when she heard someone calling her name from behind. She turned and said, “Oh, it's you, Ken. How have you been?” She said,
“So nice," Ken replied.
"No matter how much I objected, my boyfriend continued to flirt with the other girls. But now a handsome new guy has moved into town and the shoe is on the other foot." This thought runs through Tolani mind when she remembered what she has done for Joshua.
Two weeks later, Ken began to ask Tolani out, but she did not give him a reply. She just wanted to know if he would be a good guy, but after two months, she agreed to be with Ken.
In the restraint, they went to eat, and they met Joshua. When Joshua raised his head, he kneeled before Tolani and began to beg for forgiveness.
“Please find it in your heart to forgive me, and let's come together as before," Joshua said while kneeling. Teats began to gush down his face.
“That's crocodile tears. You can never change," Tolani replied.
“I promise. I will change and will never allow the devil to tempt me again”, he cried out.
“Anyway, I have forgiven you, but there is no us anymore as the shoe is on the other foot," Tolani said.
Joshua could not stand it and left.
