Don't use religion to cover up for being poor. God loves both the poor and rich, but it does not mean he loves to see his children being poor.
Balance your life by making money as it is very important and at the same time maintain your faith and hope in God's. That combination will be make you wealthy both spiritual and physically.
Jesus was never against making money. The only thing he was against is making it at the detriment of your soul.
The Bible said "And Lazarus went to paradise because he was Godly". He never went to heaven because he was poor.
