I have never been and I don't think I will ever be an expert in architecture, but something I love about posting here is that I set myself a challenge to explore and investigate this subject. There are already about 15 posts in which I have shared with you beautiful and interesting structures from the city of Lima, Peru, and now from my hometown Maracay, Venezuela. This experience of seeing two totally different faces in terms of architecture, influences and inspiration, has been enriching for me and has made me see things in a totally different way, now every time I see an interesting structure in the street I immediately think of this community.

In that sense, today I will share with you images of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, it is located in the urbanization of San Jacinto in the city of Maracay and is a place of important Catholic religious events, but with the interesting difference that here the Syriac Catholic rite is followed (See technical information in the credits at the end of the post). This I mention can be understood by seeing the symbolism or writing in Arabic letters in some sectors of the structure.

As you have seen so far, this structure has a very particular shape in which stands out a triangular structure that protrudes at the main entrance, from my point of view this element attracts everyone's attention. We can also observe the large wooden door which has four compartments.

On the lateral sides we can observe in greater detail how this church is structured, here we can see that on top of the triangular structure lies a stained glass window that from the inside must look very nice. Unfortunately I could not have access to the inside (although I asked for it), but that will be for another post because I plan to return, I have been told that what is inside is spectacular.

As I mentioned before, this church has a Syrian Catholic current, so it is normal to see symbols and writings in Arabic, although there are also some in Spanish like the one that says "Servir con amor" (Serve with love). I could observe two coats of arms that frankly I do not know, but evidently they must allude to the religious institutions to which the church belongs.

I would say that the garden is small, but at least it looks in perfect condition, it is located on the side of the road leading to the main entrance and now that I detail it better it seems to have artificial grass, although the shrubs and palm trees are obviously real.

From a distance we can appreciate much better how beautiful this church is, as we can see, the triangular elements prevail in the structure in general. On the other hand, I think that the tall palm trees give it a more striking appearance, and the red or terracotta color of the roof is a great success.

    Annexed structures

On the sides are much simpler structures that serve as offices and meeting spaces. There is also a party room, so it is evident that it is a fairly complete religious institution.

It was a pleasure to share once again with you, I think there are not many interesting structures left in my city, but I know that eventually they will appear, if you are from here maybe you can recommend me some. Greetings!
