There are various types of scams and some of them are: online shopping scam, phishing scam which involves the use of wrong emails or messages into revealing personal information such as passwords, credit card numbers or social security numbers. the tech support scam which is very common, this happens with people calling your phone and pretending to be account officers trying to get details from you or invite you to zoom meeting and asking for codes sent to you. Other times, it could be from a reputable tech company, warning the victim of a computer problem or virus infection and offering to fix it for a fee. In reality, the scammer may install malware or steal personal information, just like in the new movie called "beekeeper'.

Another form of scam is the romance scam, many have fallen victim of this scam as they foolishly fall in love with criminals on a dating site, when they have established the relationship, they go ahead to manipulate victims emotionally to extort money or personal information from them. we also have the investment type of scam, where they promise to double your money after 2 days, or they promise high returns with little or no risk, often using enticing false or misleading information. There is also the employment kind of scam, it's so bad that wicked people would use your vulnerable moment to dupe you, in this case what they do is to impersonate government agencies to intimidate victims into paying fake fines ,exorbitant fees to get a job, taxes or providing personal information.

    EXPERIENCE WITH PHISHING SCAM
Somehow, I suspect that before these scammers contact you or reach out to you, they already have an idea about your assets and all because they seem to know it all. I have been involved in Phishing scams where fraudulent emails, messages, or websites that impersonate legitimate entities to trick people into revealing personal information such as passwords or credit card numbers are common. For instance, one time I got a WhatsApp call from a number that I had never chatted with before, requesting or rather telling me that we would be having a zoom meeting at a particular time. Then he said a WhatsApp code has been sent to my line, and all I had to do was call the codes to him and I would be registered for the meeting.

Message of the WhatsApp code sent to me

What saved me what the fact that it was not correlating at all. How and why would I be getting a WhatsApp code for a zoom meeting that should happen on the zoom application. As it was my first time, I just dropped the call . But when it repeated itself again numerous times, I always call a wrong number that gets them pissed off.

This was my experience with scammers.
